Mischa and Ziggy Take a Flexi(ble) Flight to The Beautiful Life

What better flying companion than a pooch! Mischa Barton took off from LA with best pal, Ziggy, on their way to begin filming The Beautiful Life in NYC.

Sadly we can't see the surely stylin' collar, but I do spot what looks like an older model Flexi for her tiny Tibetan Spaniel - the retractable leads come in a rainbow of colors with cord or tape models available. Since they're in public, Mischa keeps the pooch on a short leash, but these range up to 26 feet long! Mischa was rocking her jorts for a coffee break in NYC this weekend. Her purple puffy sleeves aren't our favorite look on her, but luckily her two cute doggies make for perfect accessories. We're happy to see that Mischa took it easy and had a relaxing Labor Day weekend - after her Memorial Day hospital trip it's probably better that she stays away from the Hollywood beer-bqs for awhile.

Mischa The Fashionista

Mischa got glam at amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS event at Cannes last night. She may not have a film at the festival but she's doing a great job of promoting herself and her red carpet style. She's definitely a darling of the fashion world and has no problem admitting that she's a total clotheshorse. This week in The Times UK she talks about her personal style and even admits she'd rather dress her dogs than herself. Here's more:

On becoming a fashion icon:
I had absolutely no idea how much attention my clothes and I would get when I first started in The OC; it was phenomenal. Knowing I could be photographed by the paparazzi at any time while I’m hanging out in New York doesn’t actually make me dress differently or wear more make-up, although I do take routes where I’m less likely to be photographed. Also, I’m not that worried about being caught slobbing out because I’m not a sweat-pants and Uggs kinda girl.
Her fashion pet peeve:
[P]eople who wear the same label head to toe like a uniform; or really blatant logos all over their clothes.
Her favorite labels:
Chloé and Chanel, who have always been very good to me for red carpet events, and Balenciaga. I also love Zac Posen and Matthew Williamson, and since I have become friends with them they have made me clothes.

Mischa Heads Back East for Keds

Mischa walked the streets of NYC yesterday looking just as adorable as she did when she took off with Ziggy from LAX this week. The trip isn't all fun and games for Mischa - yesterday she headed over to Macy's to fulfill her duties as a Ked's girl. I guess the promotional tour explains her fancy new hair. She's so stylish just walking down the street -- in fact, she looks like she could be shooting a commercial right now.

Mischa & Ziggy Fly the Friendly Skies

Mischa arrived at LAX this week with her dog Ziggy and a new look. Her airport attire is definitely more tame than her hot club wear (she traded those daisy dukes for pinstripe pants) - and it looks like she hit the salon to lighten up and perhaps add extensions to those long locks. Mischa Livin' on the Edge of Fashion Disaster

What is Mischa wearing? No, seriously, what is Mischa wearing? Is it on correctly? Is it legitimately intended to be worn over shorts? Is it what one would usually throw on when walking her dog in the park? To answer that last question, no. Mischa catches a lot of flack round these parts, but at least she's a legitimate actress with projects in the works and such (which is more than I can say for some of the other starlets). Plus, she's not afraid to take ::jazz hands::fashion::jazz hands:: risks -- which sometimes go right and sometimes go very, very wrong. But at the very least, it's rarely, if ever, boring. Case. In. Point.

Mischa Doesn't Let a Little Stomach Bug Get In The Way

Mischa Barton, not previously, to my knowledge, notorious for her party skills, exhibited a level of boozy expertise in NY this week. She was apparently out partying with Jamie Lynn-Sigler and Kirsten Dunst (semi random trio much?) when girlfriend got a little woozy. Instead of letting it get in the way of her evening she booted outside the club and went right back in to rally. She's quite the little trooper, isn't she? Hey, she may drink a bit more than necessary, but she can sure hail a cab with style.

Mischa's 21st Birthday of Woe

Mischa Barton may have turned 21 last week (finally, someone will let the girl have a drink), but it wasn't the joyful affair it should have been. Rumor has it that Mischa's big night was marred by the death of a family pet. At least she had her puppy Ziggy in New York to help console her. Here's more:

RUMORS were swirling after Mischa Barton showed up an hour and a half late to her 21st-birthday dinner at Graydon Carter's Waverly Inn on Thursday night. Barton's table sat at 9 p.m., but the b-day girl, in a flowing white dress, didn't show until 10:30. Her guests were not angered but saddened to learn that the delay had been caused by the death of the starlet's family dog, Bean. Still up for celebrating, though, Barton ended the night with a bash at the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar.

Hopefully Mischa was able to pull it together and take her requisite 21-year-old tequila shots. Otherwise, how would Mischa initiate herself into the world of drinking? Right.

Mischa is Out of Work...Again

In what we can only describe as a misguided marketing move, bebe has decided to replace Mischa Barton as their spokesmodel and use Rebecca Romijn instead. The former Mrs. Stamos is gorgeous, of course, but doesn't really seem to fit with bebe's target demographic. Plus, Mischa's looking pre-ty good in the ol' bikini recently. Here's more:
