It's nearly time for this year's Academy Awards, and we're all gearing up for the big night! Buzz has a fun Oscar ballot contest, and Yum already gave us a sweet peek at what they'll be snacking on at the Governors Ball. I love the red carpet . . . especially the glamorous gowns! Even though, most of us wouldn't deck a pup all matchy matchy, there's no reason why we can't aspire to having an outfit for our furry friends that would make even a celebrity jealous! Last year, doggie designer Littly Lily created replica gowns for pets – so see how they measure up to the couture. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! Found! Lil' London's Dress

I'm not even gonna get started on Ms. Brit as a mother (to child or other creature), but she certainly seems to love toting her latest baby around town these days. Even if I don't dress up my pup that often, I love to know what styles celebrities choose for their furry friends. Behind-the-Scenes: Chloe's Beverly Hills Chihuahua Wardrobe

While several of the pups of Beverly Hills Chihuahua sported fashions I recognized from doggie couture label Little Lily, for most of her clothed scenes, star pup Chloe wore handmade outfits of sleek and chic materials imported from Europe . . . all to give her a look modeled after Chanel, Valentino, and the like.

Costume designer Mariestela Fernández designed 30 dresses to fit a prototype of the canine actress (named Angel) and worked with the star's animal coordinator over three fittings to select the final 17 outfits used in the film. From nightgowns to ball gowns, most outfits featured specially created booties meant to stay on her paws (well, most of the time . . . wink wink to those of you who've seen the film already).

Creating Chloe's opulent necklace required three weeks and several design changes. At first, filmmakers wanted a large pendant in the front but found that knocked into her lil front legs. Then, they had to remove a second row of smaller diamonds because they felt it was too heavy for the Chihuahua's small frame. Lastly, they made three copies of the final design in case of mishaps. Oh yeah, in case you hadn't guessed, they were cubic zirconium not diamond. Now see the still stunning collar and fab fashions in the gallery below.

New Doggy Alert! Lily Allen's Rescued Pup

This hair color is not the only recent change in Lily Allen's life – she picked up a new dog yesterday! Meet Honey, the rescued pooch from London's Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The singer shared her thoughts on the pup in a blog post last week:

Anyways in other news, I'm getting a dog from Battersea dogs home, I found her on the weekend, and after a visit from a rehoming officer hopefully, I'll have her by next week. She's called Honey and she's quite fat (insert dogs like their owners joke here), but very sweet, she's a mongrel. There were so many Staffordshire Bullies there, it was so sad. People should really think about getting puppies from breeders or breeding them for that matter, if you saw all those poor dogs without a home with their sad little faces, you wouldn't even think about buying dogs from people who profit.

If Your Dog Wasn't a Dog, He'd Be a...

When I brought my puppy home on the Metro North, a man next to me on the train suggested I name him "Cat." Little (yet unnamed) North pawed and batted at the crate doors like a little kitty . . . and, to this day, he has mastered the sneak-up-and-pounce technique on his squeakers. Yeah, so the toys aren't alive or moving – perhaps he's not the brightest cat in the bunch – but I find him often catlike nonetheless.

Awwww. After watching this video of the adorable Lily, all I could recall were her rabbit like leaps and bounds. She hop hopped her way through the snowbanks, and I think she looked like a little bunny-in-training. Whether you share your home with a dog or a cat, which animal do you think your pet acts like the most?

Lily looks like one seriously fluffy cat! I just want to reach into the picture and pet her cute tummy! In addition to having all sorts of cuteness going on, Lily has lots of nicknames: Lil, Little Nugget and my favorite--Tubs. I take it, Redsox26, that the last pet name comes from her being a little "bulky," as you put it. Hey, the way I see it, that just gives you more to love on! Thanks again, Redsox26, for sharing Lil Tubs!

Found! London's Striped Sweater

Huge sunglasses . . . check. Messy hair . . . check. London . . . check. Hmm, but what's this I see?! A cute, stripey top (on the dog). After some searching, and much zoom-in examining, I was shocked to find the Houndstooth Striped Sweater by DC at Petco on sale 'til 1/31 for $7.50 (originally $14.99). I'm wondering if Brit picked it up waaaay back when she also bought a goldfish at that shop . . . and a bit curious about the serious downgrading from the Kwigy-bo carrier and Little Lily dress we've spotted in the past. I couldn't bear to let lil' London wear something so basic, so see the more paps-worthy version (at twice the price) I've picked when you read more.

IMO, this heart rugby sweater is much more pantworthy. . . but let me know what you think in your comments below!
