Foster a Dog Virtually, Help Feed Them in Real Life

If you've ever wished you could give a homeless dog a forever home (or could foster a dog until the lucky pup found a permanent family), but don't have the time or space, now you have an easy and fun way to pitch in with the help of Facebook. The Save a Dog Facebook app allows you to virtually care for an actual shelter pup, and by getting friends to co-sponsor or foster their own canine online, you'll earn points that will translate into real food in the mouths of shelter dogs.

DogTime and Rescuegroups.org teamed up to produce the charitable app, and the best part is that it costs you nothing to help out. Just install the app on your Facebook page and you're off and running. Aside from donating a few hours at your local shelter, this has to be the easiest way to help thousands of needy pups.

My Heart Melts at This Snow Dog Creation

I can't say enough great things about Planet Dog - not only does it have adorably awesome pet gear, it has a whole foundation to help working dogs, too. What's more, company staffers shared this crafty canine creation on their Facebook fan page and, while we're short on the white stuff in most of CA, next time I make it up to Tahoe, I'm ready to re-create it. Get inspired and get started on this slideshow now.

Miss Pru Gets Comfy Cozy With Handmade, Remade Clothing

I've been trying to get together a nice winter wardrobe for Miss Pru to combat the cold Maine winters. Luckily, a friend of mine gave me a gift of a used sewing machine and a couple of dogcentric patterns so I have been whipping up a few things using old, no longer used clothing.

This is Pru's newest. I used an old American Eagle zippered hoodie for the material.

This is more of a mild day sweater as it's a little on the thin side. I actually used one of Pru's sweater's she had as a pup (which no longer fits her) as a pattern for this one, I just lengthened it a bit.

Oh, and Pru would like me to say that she now has a facebook page if anyone wants to be her friend

Has Anyone Tried the New Everyday Isle of Dogs Line?

What's better than an endorsement from one of you? This post comes to us from the Street Team group from member Delilah02.

Hello everyone, I have a Yorkiepoo and I have tried Isle of Dogs couture shampoos and conditioners in the past and loved them. I recently was at Petco in New York where we live and saw they have a new Everyday line and new treats and was wondering if anyone else tried them yet? I found Isle of Dogs on Facebook and, from what I read, people seem to be loving the new stuff. I did ask for a catalog on Facebook and some samples come with it, I guess. I am just wonder if anyone else has tried the stuff and if they like it?
