Is it just me or is Daisy looking better than ever these days?! Looks like the maltipoo got a trim to share the spotlight at Jessica Simpson's perfume launch in Dallas over the weekend – after all the fragrance is called "Fancy" so could she bring along a pup with a sloppy cut? I think not.I know North would remain atop that table for about one second . . . followed by breaking glass and his dive into the audience for kisses. What's Your Take: Where Should Jenny Go Now?

I know zoos are a tough topic for animal lovers, especially for large roaming mammals who need plenty of room to wander. Back in May when KeKe the African Elephant died, it was only 15 minutes before the first fax came in about Dallas Zoo's remaining elephant, Jenny, and where should she go now that her BFF was gone.

Although it's been decided she's going to Africam, a safari park near Puebla, Mexico, others (including "In Defense of Animals" and "Concerned Citizens for Jenny") want her to be sent to Tennessee's Elephant Sanctuary instead.

Now, it's part of American Zoological Association (AZA) standards that these herding animals be placed with at least one other of their same species for companionship, and they prefer other accredited facilities – while the park in Mexico is, the sanctuary is not (although a co-founder says they have not sought accreditation). I'm not sure what to think – what's your stand on this sad situation?

Nationwide Canine Casting Call For Upcoming Disney Flick!

If your furry friends have stars in their eyes, here's the chance for one lucky celebripup to get a cameo role in an upcoming Disney film, Buddies. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment hosted special casting calls in LA and San Diego over the weekend as part of a nationwide search for a camera-ready canine.

Participants were encouraged to come ready to shine – with two runways, Beverly Hills Chihuahua for glamorous furry fashionistas and a Bolt runway for all kinds of talents and tricks. If you missed this, find out the remaining cities, dates, and casting locations when you read more.

Audition slots are limited with sign-ups beginning at 12 p.m. and are on a first come, first serve basis:

The Scoop: High-Flying Kitty

When ten-month-old tabby, Gracie Mae, went missing from her home in Ft. Lauderdale, her owner began looking everywhere, including having her father remove parts of the bathroom tiles and cabinet to look into a small crawl space. Kelly Levy's husband, Seth, had just left on a flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Dallas-Fort Worth and she learned that he also lost something – his black suitcase.

Flash forward to the next morning – right before Kelly was about to put up missing pet signs around the neighborhood, she received a shocking phone call. A man in Ft. Worth had accidentally picked up her husband's suitcase at baggage claim, opened it up, and out popped Gracie Mae. The good samaritan offered to hang onto the cat until her husband could get there and even bought a pet taxi for the kitty's flight home! With all the problems I've heard about pets traveling in checked baggage/ cargo in clearly marked kennels, this miracle cat (who still had her spaying stitches no less) survives being packed into a suitcase, going through x-ray, flying four hours to Texas, and being loaded and unloaded off a commercial airline as any other piece of baggage. Initial reactions make me think of not only how lucky this kitty is but also how shocking it is that no one discovered this shy cat during any of the handling processes. But, after the sad stories of Scooter, I'm so glad this mystery has a happy ending!

Please Help the Purloined Pug!

Now, when I first heard the story about missing Scooter in late December, I had no idea the twist it would take. For those of you not familiar with the case, this Pug apparently dug the way out of his Dallas backyard on Christmas Eve and when his owners, Rob and Kim Velevis, returned home from running errands . . . there was no doggie. The awful twist here is that, shortly after the new year, they received a typewritten letter (postmarked from Tulsa) telling them that a woman in fact had their dog (and their address from his collar), but decided to give the dog to her daughter, and included $20 to thank them. The couple is offering to buy the girl her own dog in exchange for getting their loved one back and have created this email account (bringscooterhome@gmail.com) for any tips. I can't even articulate how upset this story makes me, so I've included a clip of their heartbreaking news appearance when you read more.
