Oh hai, Sushi – this pup may be the result of an "accident," but I don't see how any accident could be this adoro! The cutie pooch is half Corgi and half miniature American Eskimo, which means she's got that fluffy eskimo coat and those wee lil legs of a Corgi. Even though the dog's mix can be best shortened to a corgimo, her owner's sister (our very own sabs) likes to call her a skunkimo .

With a house full of pets, it's no surprise that sometimes things don't go as well as planned at the Playboy mansion. Even if you're not a fan of Hugh Hefner, he certainly loves to fill his house with animals . .

Winning both the "Historical Hound" and "Best in World" awards, the Corgi stars of The Queen represented in royal fashion at The Fidos. Four of the five pooches – Anna, Poppy, Megan, Alice, and Oliver – who played the part(s) were present on the red carpet in England at yesterday's event, and are pictured above with Oscar winner, Helen Mirren. The other winners included pups from Year of the Dog ("Comedy Canine"), Shooter ("Blockbuster Bowser"), and short film, Dog Flap ("Cupcake Cinema").

Even though it was filmed in Long Beach, CA back in December, the 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship premiered on TV Saturday night. Of course, this was a must-watch for North and I as we once again curled up with friends and food to see the pups.
North was pretty sad when Elmer the Boston Terrier didn't place in his group (and went in the bedroom to sulk), but the rest of us tuned in for all the results and seven finalists to come into the ring.

With all the excitement of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival hitting the Sugar Network, we don't want to forget about our furry, four-legged actors and actresses out there in showbiz! Not only are animals key players in film, but they deserve an award all their own: The Palm Dog.
An event that began in 2001, The Palm Dog is taking place this year right along side heavy hitters like Angelina and Brad at the UK Film Pavilion at Cannes this Friday.

Inspired by the Palm Dog, the canine version of the Palme d'Or award at Cannes each year, the BFI London Film Festival now presents The Fidos, the world's first international awards for dog stars of the big screen on October 28.
Up for grabs are awards in the following categories:
- Historical Hound – a dog in a film set in bygone days.
- Blockbuster Bowser – for achievement in an action flick.
- Comedy Canine – the smoochiest pooch in a romantic comedy.
- Cupcake Cinema – dogs in a short film.
- Best in World – the top honour, for a top dog.
Among the nominees are dogs featured in movies like Molière and Control. My favorites are the five Corgis (Anna, Poppy, Megan, Alice, and Oliver) from The Queen.
