Snap, Snap, Pose: Chloe Gets a Brand New Do!

I know you guys rolled your eyes at the thought of a wig on a dog, but this adorable photo of Chloe's new hairdo might change your mind! I was just wondering out loud where Lauren Conrad's dog Chloe has been to a pet-loving (and Hills-loving) pal of mine (I mean, she's already accustomed to hordes of "puparazzi" following her every move), and here she is starring in her own tweet!

Lauren's been keeping a busy book tour schedule, and tweeting about her adventures while crisscrossing the country, but still finds time to have fun with her pup Chloe. Obviously, the hectic life of a star hasn't stopped Chloe from hitting the town and getting her hair done! Although I can't confirm that the wig she's wearing is in fact a Wiggles, you have to admit, it's not so bad after all right? Come on, she's smiling!

Do Tell: Have You Used Your Pet to Avoid Company?

Even if you aren't totally into The Hills, or missed last night's episode, I've already confided that I was fingers crossed to see the rascally pup, Chloe. Sadly, she didn't make an appearance last night, but the doggie was mentioned – I'll relay the events below and I want to hear how you would handle a similar situation.
Two roommates (Lauren and Lo) threw a birthday party for a third roommate (Audrina). Now there's no love lost between Lo, Audrina, and her friends and, at one point, Lo disappears. A short while later, Lauren asks where she was and Lo nonchalantly mentions she was simply upstairs playing with the dog. Hmmm.

Now my home isn't big enough for me to hide away during a party, and I've got no roommates to have guests over that I don't care for, but I've witnessed similar reactions. In fact one close friend always seems to take a loooong walk with her pooch whenever one of her boyfriend's friends (that she doesn't care for) decides to stop by. Have you ever tried this tactic?

Chloe Shares Lauren Conrad's Taste in Shoes!

LC: Chloe actually just got back from puppy boot camp because she wasn’t learning anything, but now she is. She still eats everything but she is good!

PS: Do you enjoy having a puppy?
LC: Yeah, she is great. She just eats my shoes. She has eaten a couple pairs literally out of the box too! I never even got to wear them.

Eeks, I guess this pup knows what she likes . . . and, come to think of it, those fringe boots do look like a tempting toy! Do your pets ever eat your shoes, too?

Found! LC Wears Chloe Around Her Neck

Even though The Hills won't be back for another couple months, I've still got Lauren Conrad's pooch, Chloe, on the brain. We are missing key puppy grow-up time so I hope to see plenty of footage when the show returns in August! In the meantime, increasingly busy LC is so jetset, hitting up events like MTV Upfronts in NYC and the White House Correspondents Dinner in DC. How does she deal with missing her cutie pie when she's away? Find out when you read more.

She wears the pup's name – along with her own initials – right around her neck! Lauren's recently been wearing a Jennifer Fisher necklace that I've re-created online – with a whopper of a price tag. Thankfully, People Style Watch found some more reasonable alternatives to her token of love.

Chloe's Big Debut on The Hills!

You may recall from here and here that I've been anxiously awaiting the day when Chloe joined Ashes and made her appearance on The Hills. Well, last night, I got my wish. Although a somewhat awkward scene for Audrina (who seems rather left out of LC and Lo's decision making in general), the dog was extra cute in her frolicking, scampering, and nipping self. Seems these new pet owners are already stocking up on the essentials like cozy beds, but still may let the pooch join them in theirs. Wanna see some photos of the pup, just read more.

Pound Puppy Chloe (and LC) Take an LA Walk

Looks like Lauren Conrad's adoro Chloe got a pretty new leash from the last time we saw her, and once again it's pink! This girly girl pound puppy is getting sooo big, and I can't wait to see the lab/shepherd mix grow into those long legs and big paws! The two took a West Hollywood walk on Sunday, and while this trip didn't include a pet-store run, Chloe certainly seems to be on a walking mission . . . wherever they're going. Fingers still crossed for a cameo on The Hills, after all it's much easier to check out this cute pup than it is to see LC's cat, Ashes, who's not yet BFFs with the dog. Cuteness Continues on the Set of Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2

Hola, Papi! The loveable, rescued star of the original movie is back on set to film Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2! I can only guess what trouble the tiny pups will nearly escape from (fingers and paws crossed) this time, but I'm willing to bet there still won't be any scrimping in the fashion department.

As you may remember, even though the other main canine stars like Chloe and Delgado had many furry understudies, just one pooch - real name, Rusco - played Papi who found a new friend and forever home with one of the flick's trainers.

Behind-the-Scenes: Chloe's Beverly Hills Chihuahua Wardrobe

While several of the pups of Beverly Hills Chihuahua sported fashions I recognized from doggie couture label Little Lily, for most of her clothed scenes, star pup Chloe wore handmade outfits of sleek and chic materials imported from Europe . . . all to give her a look modeled after Chanel, Valentino, and the like.

Costume designer Mariestela Fernández designed 30 dresses to fit a prototype of the canine actress (named Angel) and worked with the star's animal coordinator over three fittings to select the final 17 outfits used in the film. From nightgowns to ball gowns, most outfits featured specially created booties meant to stay on her paws (well, most of the time . . . wink wink to those of you who've seen the film already).

Creating Chloe's opulent necklace required three weeks and several design changes. At first, filmmakers wanted a large pendant in the front but found that knocked into her lil front legs. Then, they had to remove a second row of smaller diamonds because they felt it was too heavy for the Chihuahua's small frame. Lastly, they made three copies of the final design in case of mishaps. Oh yeah, in case you hadn't guessed, they were cubic zirconium not diamond. Now see the still stunning collar and fab fashions in the gallery below.

Four Chloes, Six Delgados But Only One Papi!

I totally enjoyed Beverly Hills Chihuahua (did you?) – so here's a tail-waggingly good tale about one of the film's heroes, the lovable and macho Papi. The bat-eared Chihuahua mix named Rusco was rescued for the part from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter by a trainer who's now the pup's proud parent, too.The lil guy was a fast learner (just like another rescue-turned-star pooch I remember) able to quickly acclimate to a role in front of lights, cameras and action. His fave rewards during the learning process . . . steak and a stuffed, squeaky flower named "Daisy May." Ahh, tough life.

First up there, there was the fabulously dressed Chloe, played by a Chihuahua named Angel; she made her big screen debut along with her three body doubles . . . you know for her bloated days. Next, the world-weary Delgado, my personal fave. Although only one pooch (named Samson!) was the German Shepherd face seen on screen, the physical role called for five others to help out with stunts including two more rescues. Lastly, the film's villain, El Diablo was played by a two-year-old Doberman Pinscher all the way from Hungary – Arad was originally trained as a protection dog but quickly adapted to this movie star role and lifestyle.

Big woofs to all the other pups involved – like the 50 Chihuahuas seen in the desert canyon scene also coming from local shelters – and stay tuned as both Angel and Samson will be seen in upcoming flick Hotel for Dogs.

Who Else Is Hoping To See Charlie On The Hills?!

With The Hills returning in just a few weeks, I'm admittedly sad that we won't be glimpsing cute Chloe this season (with no Lauren). Now I know this show has more animal lovers and Stephanie Pratt recently told People Pets about her one-year-old rescue named Charlie - what a cutie!

She's no stranger to furry family members, though:

I had every single type of animal growing up. I had a guinea pig, and even got a horse for Christmas once. My whole family truly loves animals.

Now I knew she had a guinea pig (or was it a hamster?) from an episode last season and I'm hoping we see Charlie when the show kicks back up again. Any bets on the likelihood of his small-screen debut?
