Pet Pic of the Day: Canine Burritos

Although I'd never hope to see a canine burrito on an actual menu, it would be pretty awesome to have one waiting for me when I got home. See below for examples.

I know this looks like a lot of steps, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze!

First of all, join the Pet Pics group.
Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.
Choose "Photos" and “Upload Photos."
Give your Gallery a “Title.”
Fill in the “Body” with details about your pet.
Click “Groups and Privacy" just below the "Search Title" box.
Choose the audience for your story to “Pet Pics!” in the dropdown menu.
Change channel to “Pets.”
Fill in tag field with relevant tags.
Click “I’m done” to submit content.

So join the Pet Pics group and share photos of your adorable pets! Yours just might end up on the PetSugar homepage!

It wasn't a huge surprise when Travis's darling Boxer, Presley, was crowned the Greatest American Dog this week, especially because the two were one of my favorite teams from the get-go. Travis describes Presley as "hyper, intelligent, affectionate, ultrafriendly, and playful," which fits right in line with the Boxer breed. What else do you know about Boxers? Should Presley and Travis Have Won Greatest American Dog?

Yesterday 56 percent of PetSugar readers predicted Presley and Travis would be crowned the champions of Greatest American Dog and they were spot on! Travis, the lovable 29-year-old bartender, and Presley, his one-and-a-half year old Boxer, took their triumphant victory lap together after beating out the 11 other teams of dogs and owners from across the US. Travis accepted the honor with complete humility, saying:

"The greatest American dog doesn't have to be perfect...It's about the love for your animals."

New Puppy Alert! Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ross McCall

Hooray for a smooshy – Mona is the new puppy of actress Jennifer Love Hewitt! She's already got a cav so this Boxer should have some fun company at home in LA. Now I've asked your opinion about Flexi leashes in general, but I thought this picture was especially interesting. See how her husband, Ross McCall, has a sturdy short leash attached to the retractable one? I've never seen that before but it seems a great safety precaution with a big or rambunctious dog. My friend Tracey sliced her hand open when she tried to grab a tight grip on a cord Flexi with her energetic Rottie mix, Jack, so I've seen first hand how dangerous it can be. Well, with more than one furry family member, this leash extension looks like a coupler made for walking multiple dogs with one leash. Just like the one I said would help Adam Brody walk those two pups, a connector used on its own protects hands from Flexi cuts and burns. The ones offered by SuperLeash come in several lengths from 12 to 48 inches ($8.50-$14.50) and have a chrome swivel clip at each end for easy attachments!

Moe: Pet of the Week

Moe totally sums up how I'm feeling right now so how could I not pick him to be our pet of the week?! This one-year-old Boxer is the proud pet of girlA. She says, not only does he think he's as human as we are, but he's 80 pounds of goof and love! Awwww, how sweet! Moe loves to climb up in this chair when the sun is in that magical spot and bask in the light. Then, he promptly falls asleep (although sometime between sitting up and snoozing off, he makes it into a laying down position) . . . hmmm, I wonder if I could fall asleep up against my monitor? But, I digress. Congrats cutie pie, you're our TGIF POTW! See another piccy of this poochie when you read more.

In the Spotlight: Watch Good Dog of Watchmen's Goode

Admittedly, I don't know much about superhero movies . . . but I know quite a bit about super cute smooshies. For those of you just as (un) comic book savvy as I am, the movie, Watchmen, is based on a series of the same name and was adapted to the big screen by acclaimed director, Zack Snyder. As far as the plot goes, my quick research revealed there are good guys and bad guys, including Matthew Goode.

OK that was my long winded way of introducing this cute Boxer puppy. The lucky twosome got a cab to transport them from somewhere in Dublin to somewhere else in Dublin – not always the easiest thing to do with a larger dog! I can't wait to see more of this pup but check out their Irish car trip in the photos below.
