Every Spring, San Francisco hosts the Bark & Whine Ball — this year it's March 25 — to benefit the SF/SPCA’s Cinderella Fund. Not only is this a great cause that helps pay for the medical needs of homeless animals, but it's a fun party with pets welcome!
While North and I have never attended this particular event, we have checked out past Petchitecture parties, where cocktail dresses and dogs mixed things up.

Though I've never suffered an allergy in the name of love, the idea of caring for someone who couldn't care for North is too scary to consider. While there are bathtime alternatives and medication, many people turn to ionizers to clear the air (literally).
Ionizers charge the air with negative ions, which attract and catch airborne allergens — like pet dander — and relieve suffering.

Hotel owner Frank Case was an animal lover. So when a stray cat came through his doors in the early '30s, Frank welcomed him in with a champagne flute full of milk. Keeping with the tradition that Frank began back then, there have been many cats that have called the Algonquin Hotel home, and each has earned a sort of celebrity status — children's books have been penned about the frolicking felines!

Just 'cause it's good for the environment, doesn't mean it needs to be bad on the eyes. Take this brand-new collection from Mascot: it's eco-friendly and fashion-friendly.
There are six different color combos, but the blue/yellow style, along with these charms, benefit the company's non-profit partner, Canine Companions for Independence, which trains assistance dogs for people with disabilities.

With passenger seating for up to six people, you'd think there would be plenty of room for Fido to ride along without any problems. But Honda thought that having an abundance of room wasn't enough.

I'm counting down the hours to Dog Day on the Bay! That's right, next Sunday we're boarding a big boat on a pet-friendly cruise around San Francisco. North's been all over the country, but he's only been on a ferry, never a swanky trip with a bow-wow buffet and "poop deck."

It's safe to say the crocodile is synonymous with the Lacoste label – in fact, I don't even need to see the brand name to recognize this creature! Tapping into that recognition, companies with wild logos are being asked to help save endangered species via a new international campaign titled Save your logo. Backed by the World Bank, the World Environment Fund (WEF) and the International Union for the Conservation of nature (IUCN), companies can donate up to 1.5 million euros over three years to a "Save Your Logo" fund and benefit from a tax cut of up to 60 percent of the donations received.
