Perfect for a dog living in the actual White House, the eco-tastic Sustainable Pet Design created this habitat as a gift for the Obama family's future pet. Consisting of donated materials as part of Project Summa Canum (Latin for "top dog"), the house even has presidential origins – it's made with wood from Tennessee Aromatic Cedar trees that Andrew Jackson planted along the driveway of his estate, The Hermitage. This white house looks pretty amazing – see the sandblasted logo on the back – and I can't wait to find out what kind of pooch will be living inside!

I already enjoy watching Dogs 101 and now it's time for the kitties to get some love! Animal Planet will air two special episodes solely dedicated to cat breeds and I can't wait. The first one premieres on Dec.

I've made my way to Vancouver a number of times, by train and by car, and I have to say it's one of my favorite cities and is always a pleasure to visit. From their fab Stanley Park to amazing shopping (especially on Robson St.), really makes for a cool city to spend some time wandering around in. To me, Vancouver always seemed to be ahead of the trends when it came to sustainable living, and now, they are on point to start another trend for condo and apartment living: decks made for your pups built right into luxury apartments!

Newfies fill a special place in my heart. If I had a large home with a large backyard, those large, black dogs would be tops on my list even before I heard about the amazing tale of this very special Newfoundland named Connie. Connie shares her home with Hazel Carter who suffers from crippling arthritis.
