I'm super psyched for the Greatest American Dog for several reasons – there's quite the cast of characters to watch! Bringing 12 teams of pooches and owners, I can't wait to see how the pageant dogs measure up against the home-trained pups, the purebreds to the mixed, and what goes down when all 24 move in together! Each week a pair will be eliminated 'til one wins the crown .

Remember when I hinted about that show Greatest American Dog? Well, I've got some more info courtesy of my pal, BuzzSugar. This new reality/ competition series pits 12 teams of pups and owners – with varying levels of training – against each other in games that test the training abilities and train-ability of the duos.

If you've always wanted to be on TV, and you have a pup with some serious talent, then have I got a contest for you! I just stumbled across CBS's casting call for their new reality show tentatively called America's Greatest Dog, that puts dogs' (and owners') talents in the spotlight as they try to nab the title of Top Dog. That means, if I know anything about reality television, there will be drama, a few brawls (more likely between humans than canine), and a really swank house.

I recapped last Wednesday's episode of Greatest American Dog with some answers from my chat with Beth Joy, but here's the rest of the interview – you don't think I'd get off the phone without asking about her pooch's name, do you? Don't forget to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. to see which duo's going home this week!

My new favorite show Greatest American Dog ended this week and while little Andrew didn't take the top spot, the judges said he was the "most incredible Maltese" they have ever witnessed.
Andrew was the highest scoring dog in trial at the annual Town and Country Kennel Club Show and was named the top Maltese in the U.S. Novice Rally Competition so clearly he's a winner of sorts even though he isn't America's greatest.
