Last week I asked all you savvy shoppers and Internet researchers out there to come PetMarking with me on a collar matching mission to help my pal LilPeaPod find a cute collar to match the chic carrier she's bought for her brand-new puppy. I think this denim studded collar ($23) petmarked by wren would look super cute on the lil stud – he'd be handsome and a wee bit punky, too!

One of my pals is getting a new puppy and, in preparation for his arrival (or just total overexcitement), she has already dropped a chunk of cash on this Denim Bowling Bag ($170) from Wagwear as her first official puppy-accessory purchase. And, being the fashionista that she is, she wants to find a collar that matches the bag for her new furry pal to sport when they are out on the town, on their way to the dog park, or while lunching it up at a cafe. She has enlisted our help for the mission, so let's find a great matching collar for her new four-legged bundle of joy!

In big cities like the big apple, if you're taking public transit, hailing a cab, or trying to sneak bring a doggie into a shop, you're often only allowed if your pet fits in a carrier. But, I remember from one of our first PetMarking missions, there are plenty of cute cases out there for people to choose and use! I don't agree with dog-as-accessory, and I think putting a pup in your purse – a bag not sold specifically for pet purposes – can hurt both the doggie and the bag. Now, Todd Oldham's certainly a busy man – being the new creative director of Old Navy causes him to jet between NYC and SF and sometimes, I'd imagine, he just grabs the first bag laying around before running errands. While there's nothing wrong with his classic L.L. Bean Boat and Tote, but I'd love for him to express that preppiness with a petspecific version instead.
