Budding game designers, have I got a documentary for you! A geeky sweetheart of Sundance and SXSW, Indie Game follows the successes and struggles of the committed — sometimes obsessive — game designers behind Fez, Super Meat Boy, and Braid. The film gives insight into the creative processes the designers go through in an attempt to fight the corporate system and make their own way in the gaming industry.
If you're not a hardcore gamer, fear not. The underdog story is guaranteed to tug at our heartstrings. And lucky for us, the dynamic Canadian duo behind the film, James Swirsky and Lisanne Pajot, will also be making the full film available on a ton of different outlets like iTunes, Direct Download, and Steam. Catch a glimpse of Indie Game before its June 12 debut in the trailer below.

Fans at the weekend's Doctor Who Convention were the first to get a look at the trailer for series seven, and thankfully now we can all share in the sci-fi magic. Watch as The Doctor winds up in an American-style Western complete with a sheriff badge, a pistol-wielding Amy Pond, and yes, even a Stetson-clad Timelord. Watch a preview of what appears to be the most explosive Doctor Who episode yet below!
The royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton will be watched by millions on TV and live streamed on the web, but there will be plenty of other Londonites lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds on their way to the reception at Buckingham Palace. I'm not in London myself, but word on the street is, people will be camping out ahead of the ceremony to get a good spot along the official procession route. This puts seniors at a disadvantage — who wants to camp out for days on the cement? The UK's Environmental Transportation Association has a solution: the QTvan Mobile Trailer.
For around $9,072, seniors (or anyone who wants a trailer that can be pulled by a mobility scooter) can climb into this mini camper and sleep in a full-sized bed for the night wherever they happen to park. Stocked with a 19-inch TV, AM/FM radio, and bookshelves, along with a kettle for tea, this is your serious royal wedding overnight sleeping solution. Extra additions include solar panels for heating, a satellite dish, a gaming console, central heating, and an external luggage rack. Who needs a hotel?
Take an up-close look at the QTvan Mini Camper in a video after the jump.
If you haven't heard of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World — the movie where Michael Cera is forced to battle seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to date the girl of his dreams — then you're missing out, friend. Check out the latest trailer that blends the best of comic books, video games, and rom-coms into a tall, frothy glass of geeky goodness. Enjoy!
Although the Gears of War 3 announcement that was to take place on Jimmy Fallon's show last week was spoiled on Xbox Live ahead of time, he did get the scoop on the world premiere of the official trailer last night — called "Ashes to Ashes" — which comes with some good news for the girl gamers out there: you can now play a female combat character in the game.
I've said before that my boyfriend (and all his buddies) love playing the Gears of War series, but since then, I've become addicted to the franchise as well and am glad that the fairer sex is getting some representation in the combat game. Sure, you can still play as a mutated alien or a beefed-up man-soldier in GOW3 if that's your preference, but it's good to have the option of playing a butt-kicking lady as well. Check out the recently released (and oh-so-depressing) trailer to see what I mean when you read more.
Loosely based on the classic children's book by Judi and Ron Barrett, Cloudy is an animated film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The premise: A scientist hopes to solve world hunger when he discovers a way to convert water into food, but when he unleashes his invention on the world, it turns into an epic (albeit delicious) disaster.
I can't wait to get a helping of the computer animated adventure, which features the voices of comedians Andy Samberg and Anna Faris. I suspect the movie will only be more hunger-inducing in its 3-D, IMAX version. Will you be watching? Check out the preview trailer after the jump.
In addition to being captured in photos by National Geographic, the sustainable food crisis is also the focus of a new documentary. Magnolia Pictures' Food, Inc. is a call to action to change the way America eats. It discusses food consumption today, its heavy dependence on corn, its ties to national policy, and its inevitable impact on our nation's health.
Based on the book Food, Inc. (and similar to The Omnivore's Dilemma), the premise of this film appears to be similar: the country's food system, with its focus on making food bigger, cheaper, and faster, is making America sick. The movie also addresses the contamination issues plaguing the nation and the enormous power wielded by US food corporations, with sustainable food poster boys Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser making appearances in the documentary.
If you haven't seen it yet, below is the trailer for the film, which debuts in select cities June 12. Do you think this documentary will prove to be as influential as proponents are hoping it to be? Will you go see it?
Buzz and I both love Wallace and Gromit! And what a better way for us to continue the love-fest than to play along with their crazy adventures, game style. A series of Wallace and Gromit episodic games is headed our way soon, but on which console?
Developer Telltale Games is keeping mum on that bit of info for now, but I have a feeling that this will be a WiiWare download-able title. Just a guess. Check out the super cute Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures teaser trailer, and then tell me: Are you as excited to play this game as I am? And if the answer is no, then I must know how you can possibly resist the cuteness?
