The Shiba Inu Puppy Cam Is Back — Again!
Third time's a charm! Shiba Inu mama Kika, who brought us the first two adorable iterations of the Shiba Inu puppy cam, has just given birth to a third (and final) litter. The six puppies — nicknamed the C-Team 6-Pack — are available for your viewing pleasure now; last time I checked, they were nursing hungrily. Awwww. Take a look now, and kiss your productivity goodbye!
What's Your Take: Purebred Dog Mistaken For a Coyote?!
I've yet to wrap my head around this bizarre story. It all started when the pictured pooch disappeared from a Kentucky backyard on July 3. Copper, a female Shiba Inu, was found by a policeman and brought to the local animal shelter. The unsuspecting cop later received a phone call that he needed to come retrieve the animal as coyotes weren't allowed there.
After consulting with a wildlife expert, the only options were return the animal to the wild . . . or to kill it. (This is definitely where Copper lucked out.) To hear what happened next, read more

Take the QuizThey're Baa-ack: Peep the Latest Shiba Inu Puppy Cam
The famed "Shiba Inu 6" have a new challenger group, the "Shiba Inu 5" — just try to look away. I dare you. Born to the same mom, Kika, that had those adorable six babes in 2008, she's back with two lil lads and three lasses in 2010. The cam's now live online during the West Coast daytime, so check back if the video's off when you peek in on the pups' rumbly tummies and tumbly antics.

Do Tell: Would You Carry an Unleashed Dog Like Kelly O.?
Although not our favorite new puppy of '08, here's that baby Shiba Inu we've spotted with Kelly Osbourne in recent months. While I'm happy to see any pup, it's not the first time I've spotted a celebrity pet in the arms of an owner . . . with no leash in sight.
Even though I'm one to scoop North up if I see something unsavory in our path, I don't think I'm brave enough to leave the house with him in my arms and no leash snapped on for security. Nevermind that this dog will soon be too big for such choices, but would you ever do like Kelly Osbourne does here?
Pet Pic(s) of the Day: Not One, Not Two, but Three Shiba Inus!
As if one Shiba Inu wasn't enough of a handful (they are super smart . . . and notoriously headstrong), wakeupandora has three in her family! We already met Kitsune (who loves his treats), but I'd like you to meet Hachi (on the right), and Tsuki (in the middle). Kudos to you wakeupandora for raising all these little loves together — I can imagine it would be quite a challenge!

Congrats to the whole shiba family, Kitsune, Tsuki, and Hachi Mitsu, as well as wakeupandora for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Be sure to submit your favorite photos to our Pet Pics group for a chance to see your furry pals on PetSugar!
Pet Pic of the Day: Kitsune Loves His Treats!
TeamSugar user wakeupandora must be holding a super tasty yum in her hand, 'cause Kitsune is definitely pleased with what he sees! How she snapped that piccy just in time to capture Kitsune's tongue fly over his nose I'll never know. That's some serious photo taking/treat holding skill.

Congrats to Kitsune and wakeupandora for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! I'm sure you have some photos of your pets that you're stashing away, why not show them off in the Pet Pics group? You may see your furry family pics on PetSugar!
It's a Toss Up: Dog (Sort of) Shares Rawhide with Bird
Now many pets are possessive of their snacks but, when I was watching this cute video of a Shiba Inu and a birdie (that looks a lot like former POTD Franklin), I couldn't decide if the dog was contemplating sharing the rawhide with the bird, or if he was just moving around to encourage the flutterer to move on.
