Polar bears are big, bumbling, and just adorable — and they sure love the snow. We can't get enough of these amazing wild animals, from Siku, the adorable polar bear cub, to the family of bears showcased in the new film To the Arctic. Following a family of polar bears through the challenges of living on the frozen tundra, the stunning movie opened in theaters March 26 and is available on Blu-ray 3D combo pack and digital download, too. You may not think of polar bears as a summertime animal, and it's true that these Arctic creatures must adapt as the weather warms and their habitat dramatically retreats. But for one little polar bear, the sun's rays mean a new world to explore as the ice melts away from his home in the Scandinavian Wildlife Park. It's been awhile since we checked in on Siku the orphaned cub, but it appears he's been keeping himself busy over the last few months and growing bigger (but staying cute!) along the way. Here's a roundup of our favorite Siku photos to get your weekend off to a great start!
If, like us, you were wowed by Blue Planet and awed by Planet Earth, you're in for a real treat. Just in time for Earth Day this Sunday, BBC Home Entertainment has released the epic series Frozen Planet on DVD and Blu-ray! The seven-part special delves into harsh Arctic and Antarctic environments with never-before-seen footage of animals above and below the ice. What better way to celebrate this amazing planet than by participating in a community cleanup event topped off with a quiet evening curled up watching critically-acclaimed footage of nature's iciest landscapes? The series certainly reminded us of the importance of preserving this frigid habitat.
We, of course, love that polar bears take center stage, and these cute little cubs in this clip just melt our hearts, not unlike the Summer sun on the ice!
Siku fever has hit, and we'll admit it: we're afflicted! The lovable baby polar bear is just 3 months old, but he's already claimed the hearts of animal lovers, environmentalists, and fans of cute. We've seen plenty of adorable photos, but if like us, you just can't get enough, now through a joint effort between Explore.org and Polar Bears International, you can watch Siku live!
Every day from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. EST, the un-bear-ably cute baby polar will appear live via high-definition video from his home at Denmark's Scandinavian Wildlife Park. The live cam's backers hope that he will become an ambassador for his roughly 25,000 relatives remaining in the wild whose survival is threatened by the melting of polar ice. Siku, whose name means "sea ice," would like us all to remember to shrink our carbon footprint in the hopes of saving the polar bears' Arctic home!

You'd think a baby polar bear would be ready for a tumble in the snow from day one. Not so for Siku, the adorable orphaned baby bear from the Scandinavian Wildlife Park. His first venture into a cold white world took place this week at just under 4 months old! But clearly this little one has taken to it like . . . well, polar bears to snow. Check out Siku's winter wonderland and other baby photos you may have missed.
The loss of Knut the polar bear last year left a trail of broken hearts among animal lovers worldwide. Thankfully, the good people at the Scandinavian Wildlife Park in Denmark have brought us Siku, and our hearts are once again replete. At just 49 days old, the orphaned baby polar is already an Internet sensation, simply for sucking on a bottle and passing out in a food coma. But so long as this little guy is willing to feast and snooze for us, we won't complain!
And be sure to check out oodles of Siku's adorable studio head shots below!
Walker the polar bear hams it up for the cameras on his third birthday at Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland, noshing on a healthy meal of salmon, apples, and carrots. Sadly, no candles topped his frozen sardine cake, but who needs them when you have a plastic hard hat to play with?
Looking for your daily dose of all things adorable? You're in luck. Here is an inspired performance from Augo, a baby polar bear, born six months ago at the Aalborg Zoo in Denmark. We have to hand it to Augo — the blue bucket makes quite a fetching fashion statement.
The famed polar bear named Knut got a bunch of special snacks including something baked into his big number. See him enjoy his birthday on Dec. 5 and click through the gallery.
