Spring is fast approaching, which means it's time to refresh your wardrobe, but don't forget about your dog. And, of course, Spring shopping wouldn't be complete without one (or a few) really cute yet sturdy raincoats. Now that you've got your Spring-cleaning out of the way (or not — we won't judge), click through and shop our top picks for the hottest, most on-trend Spring apparel for your four-legged friend.
Get your pets into the spirit of Day of the Dead, or honor the memory of an old furry friend. More than just Mexico's answer to Halloween, Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is essentially partying with the dead. A national holiday in Mexico, and observed in other regions in Latin America and Europe, the two-day holiday on Nov. 1 and 2 honors the departed in a celebratory manner, remembering loved ones through funny anecdotes and happy memories. Family members come together to remember the deceased by building altars and "welcoming" the spirits of loved ones home. So why should your pet be excluded from the family fun? Here are 15 great finds from Etsy that will help your kitty or pooch get festive or help you honor a dearly departed pet.
Though the autumnal equinox is still a few weeks away, the Labor Day weekend and cooling temperatures have us looking forward to Fall. And while our kitties are snug at home, our favorite tongue- and tail-waggers still must brave the chill for exercise and bathroom trips. So this month, we're dedicating our Fall picks to our fearless four-legged friends who will withstand whatever weather nature throws at them for some outdoor fun!
May flowers are still on the horizon, and until then, pups will just have to deal with this month's drizzles and downpours. The upside? Adorable Spring rain gear! From functional to fashionable, we've rounded up our must-have April raincoats, suits, and booties for pups who like to splish and splash!
Ho, ho, ho, it's Santa
Claus Paws! Whether you're bringing your four-legged friend to a holiday party or just decking him out for Christmas family gatherings, there are plenty of Saint Nick-inspired hats and coats to festively outfit your furball. I'm especially smitten with this faux-fur-trimmed fleece Santa Paws Dog Costume ($25), but a Bearded Santa Hat ($12) is sure to elicit a chuckle or two. And for just a little bit of Xmas flair, a Red Santa Dog Scarf ($10) or a sweet knit Santa hat ($26) could be just the ticket for pets not in the full-costume mood. To celebrate the first day of Hanukkah, I've found some fun clothing and accessories for your furry friend to enjoy the Jewish holiday in style. From the over-the-top Doggie Yarmulkes and Tallis ($20) to the funny Hanukkah Dreidel Pet Hat ($8) to smaller flair like the Chewish Star Personalized Dog I.D. Tag ($20), there's something for everyone. Shop away by clicking on the images above!
The fact that I covet an item for myself doesn't mean I need to pick it up for North! While I love the preppy front and girly back of this Juicy Couture Twill Trench Cape ($55), I don't love (cross)dressing my dog up as a lil girl pooch. While I wish this style came supersized for humans, tell me if you think this jacket is perfect for Fall . . . or if you're falling out over the price instead?
Regardless, rockin' company Rockstar Puppy recently tweeted about its new tees, and I had to check 'em out. I'm loving this one best but they've got bands of all genres. If you have any other musically inspired group/breed names or song suggestions, "Whippet good" and share in the comments below.
I love the simple style of the Shikisai. While they've got sketches for adults and toddlers, check out their pet line (extra-small to large). Using just black ink on white background, the shirts all feature line drawings of ordinary objects. While I'm not sure I've got the extra $30 at the moment, put this one on my list for things I'll invest in when the economy picks up again. I'm doodling just thinking about it.
