Bare Bones: Bucchi Bag Convertible Dog Leash

Let's say you're bringing Fido to get fit but shoving your wallet, keys, and cell phone in your workout clothes just won't work .

Let's say you're bringing Fido to get fit but shoving your wallet, keys, and cell phone in your workout clothes just won't work . . . what's a sporty gal to do? Grab this Bucchi Bag Convertible Dog Leash ($15) that's what. With a pouch big enough to fit all the above items (and pooch's poop bags, too), it snaps to the included leash on all sides, which makes it feel like an extension of your hand and causes less bag bouncing if you pick up the pace.

Then, if you decide to stop for a postrun snack, detach the lead to bring your valuables onto the table and loop the leash around a fixed object when you sit down.

Bare Bones: Kittywalk Closet Sleeper

North likes to hang out in my closet when I'm getting ready in the morning – usually wherever I am, he wants to be.

North likes to hang out in my closet when I'm getting ready in the morning – usually wherever I am, he wants to be. So it makes total sense that someone would have the smarts to make a closet napping area, only this one is for cats that love to follow your every move.

I came across The Kittywalk Closet Sleeper on moderncat, and it looks like a perfect place for Sassy to perch while you change for the tenth time in one morning. Or maybe that's just me – I think I have outfit anxiety. For $70 on Amazon, this kitty lounger will fit your feline of up to 15 pounds, and uses only the space in your closet you aren't utilizing – adjustable straps let you lower the sleeper to an area you are comfy with giving up. Let's be realistic, closet real estate is a hot commodity! Even lending some to your favorite kitty can be tough.

Bare Bones: Squeeze Meeze

These are the things fairy tales are made of!

These are the things fairy tales are made of! With a fire-breathing dragon and frog waiting to be kissed, playful princes and princesses can tote these toys anywhere they go! The neatest feature — the coiled parts extend when each squeakable Squeeze Meeze ($5 and $7) is compressed in chompers. I know my dog's eyes would bug out at the flapping tongue (much like those party-favor blowouts), but also that he'd find a way to destroy the toy and protect our kingdom . . . pronto. Sigh, times like this make me wish I had a more cowardly pup.

Who's That Scratching at My Door?

Although scratching at my door would get North no further than the hallway, I'm betting this product would come in handy with his country cousins.

Although scratching at my door would get North no further than the hallway, I'm betting this product would come in handy with his country cousins. After all, it's the way that many dogs request ins and outs . . . but those resulting slashes can be rather unsightly.

Enter the clear vinyl scratch protector ($15) where pooches can still let you know they gotta go . . . but not ruin the wood (or get dangerous paint under their claws)! Would this save you from constantly repainting or replacing your doors?

Bare Bones: Buddha Cat Habitat

Living in a small apartment can be a tricky task with all the accessories, toys, and overall "stuff" your pet requires.

Living in a small apartment can be a tricky task with all the accessories, toys, and overall "stuff" your pet requires. So when you have a small space, even a crate or cat tree can be a strain on your square footage. Thankfully, Square Cat Habitat has produced this totally functional cat perch that attaches right to your wall and can support up to 40 pounds. 40 pounds? That's a healthy kitty!

The Buddha Cat Habitat will set you back $100 but, made from eco-friendly bamboo, it's a clear-conscience and space saving alternative to the DIY Ikea Cat Tree I showed you awhile back. Plus the Buddha comes with your choice of non-slip insert that pulls double duty: match your already coordinated color scheme, and prevents Sassy from losing her grip!

Bare Bones: Mod Dog Art

I know I'm totally obsessed with pets when I start looking for animal art to add to my walls!

I know I'm totally obsessed with pets when I start looking for animal art to add to my walls! Although, I've been having a hard time finding something that matches my taste, since I'm not really into the whole kitties-playing-with-yarn-and-flowers scene. When I came across Mod Dog's awesome breed prints, I knew I hit the jackpot. I just finished hanging mine – the Boston Terrier, naturally – and I couldn't be happier! Mod Dog prints are not only cute and a great conversation piece for your home, but are eco-friendly to boot – printed on a 100 percent cotton canvas with non-toxic inks.

You can get your favorite breed in a number of colors and sizes from $25-$65 bucks, which seems pretty affordable, since cool animal art is pretty hard to come by. I'm so in love, I might even add more breeds to the family . . . in printed form, of course.

Bare Bones: Rockin Doggie Rocks!

I was taking my usual Sunday stroll though the city with North over the weekend, and stopped into one of my favorite pet shops to find a new line of ultra-cool doggie accessories.

I was taking my usual Sunday stroll though the city with North over the weekend, and stopped into one of my favorite pet shops to find a new line of ultra-cool doggie accessories. Called Rockin' Doggie, these pieces are undoubtedly inspired by rock n' roll, but are stylish enough to wear every day. I loved the guitar pic ID tags adorned with your pup's initial on the front (N for North, of course), and was really digging the leather poop bag holder that comes in a variety of colors.

I'll tell you now that these fashions don't come cheap, but hey – when you're living a wild rockin' lifestyle, you spare no expense. Check out a few of my favorite pieces in the widget below.

Bare Bones: Crazy Cat Circle

I'm always looking for fun kitty gear (hint: submit it to my Street Team!) so I asked my friend Aimee what toy brought the most joy to her pet, Midnight.

I'm always looking for fun kitty gear (hint: submit it to my Street Team!) so I asked my friend Aimee what toy brought the most joy to her pet, Midnight. She instantly recommended the "spinny thing" . . . hmm, great suggestion, but not so easy to track down. After some follow-up questions, I figured out it's this Crazy Circle ($8) teaser for playful kitties. Consisting of a hollowed, rounded plastic tube, there's a slot for a frisky feline paw to whack a small ball around in circles, but not fall out. This kitty-powered toy also comes in a larger size for $14 and sounds like it could make me rather dizzy! One word of warning, the batting and ball can be noisy — if you've got carpet, I'd suggest placing it on that so the entire contraption doesn't shift all over the floor while kitty's playing. Plus, Aimee's added a different ball – like one with a bell – to make her Middy even more excited!

Bare Bones: PDX Dog's Artisan Feeder

We've seen our share of feeders and bowls on the site, but honestly there are few that I could see myself actually picking up.

We've seen our share of feeders and bowls on the site, but honestly there are few that I could see myself actually picking up. This Artisan Feeder from PDX Dog, which I caught in the newest edition of City Dog, might be one that I would spend my hard-earned money on. Coming in three sizes — six-, 12-, and 18-inch heights — and a number of cool modern colors, I can confidently say that any of these would look great in my apartment.

North already has a set of designer bowls, but if I were shopping for a replacement, the Artisan Feeder could make it on my short list. And since these are all hand-crafted from maple wood, the price tag of $80-$275 doesn't seem all that bad. At least you would know they were unique!

Bare Bones: Aqua Pure Breed Water

It doesn't look like bottled water, but it is!

It doesn't look like bottled water, but it is! And it kinda makes me wonder why anyone didn't think of this design before. You're looking at the newest bottled water to hit the market, and it's made just for your on-the-go pets. Called Aqua Pure Breed, this water is fortified with vitamins and minerals to aid in joint, heart, nerve, and skin health (similar to FortiFido, which a slim majority of you would file into the Spoiled Rotten category), but in an easy-to-use package shaped like a water bowl!

Gone are the days of toting around your water bottle and a collapsible bowl, since Aqua Pure Breed has thought of that already. Honestly, why hasn't anyone thought of this before?! And although the "bottles" are disposable, I might want to keep these around and reuse them since they are so portable. APB doesn't have a list of retailers on their website just yet, but if you can't find it at your local pet shop, you can have your bottles delivered to your home in cases of 48 for $60 — the equivalent of about $1.25 a bottle.
