With its huge online database of adoptable animals, Petfinder has over 300,000 pets available and they've taken a look at those pets to see which names are most common. Now it makes sense that there's some overlap with the other list we've seen, especially since shelters may not take the time to get super creative for creatures they're trying to re-home elsewhere.

I've heard about those ugly sweater parties, but I've never actually been to one. However, when I learned about Petfinder's Ugly Sweater Contest for dogs, I was intrigued. 'Cause North is totally photogenic and I'd much rather make him look foolish than myself any day!
Don't worry if your furry friend doesn't have an ugly sweater, you can also submit a photo of your pet's "winter digs" and enter the contest by Sunday, Nov. 23. The winner will get his (or her) very own e-card on Petfinder.com!
Remember Brody, our POTW yesterday? That cutie pie was rescued using Petfinder.com — a searchable database of adoptable pets that's helped with more than 11 million adoptions in the last 11 years! Stay tuned, there's now a show inspired by it premiering Feb. 9 (EST) on Animal Planet! The new series will be hosted by Jarod Miller (naturalist, zoologist, and pet expert) and Dina Zaphiris (Malibu's "Dog Trainer to the Stars"), and will travel around the country helping people find their perfect pet. The first episode introduces the story of the newly-engaged Divinity and Greg who are looking to add a new animal, but can't seem to figure out which one. She wants a nontraditional pet and he's thinking more like a pal for his 12-year-old mutt — will they ever agree? Tune in and see what animal they end up adopting. I know I will!
