Do your pets have "friends" in the neighbourhood? My cats have a few pals that call on them all the time, just like kids Smiling

PetSugar Q + A: Do You Let Your Pet Sleep With You on Your Bed?

Ahh, an ever-tricky situation as PetSugar reader Hotlegs Runner poses this question to the PetSugar Q + A group: My dogs are small and they like sleeping on our bed at night.

Ahh, an ever-tricky situation as PetSugar reader Hotlegs Runner poses this question to the PetSugar Q + A group:

My dogs are small and they like sleeping on our bed at night.  They either lay at the foot of the bed or they lie down wherever there's free space.  That said, I make sure that they're clean.  Whenever we return from their daily walks, I wash their feet. =)

One night, I entered my room and saw my dogs already on my bed. So, where am I suppose to sleep, huh? ;p

Do you let your pet sleep with you on your bed?

PetSugar Q + A: Help Me Find an All-Natural Flea Spray!

Oh no! Read this problem submitted by PetSugar reader popsugar2 in the PetSugar Q + A group and see if you can offer any tips for her: Does anyone know of an all-natural flea spray I can use on my dog?

Does anyone know of an all-natural flea spray I can use on my dog? I don't want to use the chemical ones recommended by vets.

While I've gathered up several ecotastic DIY flea solutions, there's definitely a time — like most of it — when I don't have the opportunity to buy a bunch of supplies and get to mixing. My cats use a litter box, but they step in poo while exiting. Gross! I can't discipline them for using the box, so what can I do?

Does anyone feed their dog CANIDAE dry food? My dog stayed at a fancy pet hotel and they fed her this and now she won't eat her food.

PetSugar Q + A: How Did You Deal With Pee on the Floor?

Ahh, the (not-so-joyful) joys of housetraining!

Ahh, the (not-so-joyful) joys of housetraining! Anyone who's spent the time between first day home and last day inside before final puppy shots has likely cleaned up a lot of waste. It's not a pleasant process so read about bluerose462's experience posted in the PetSugar Q and A group:

Wow, I still adore my wonderful birthday gift. I.E Pepper. However, I have never received a birthday present that pees before. She has this cute little puppy body but there has to be gallon of pee in there! Potty training seems easier with kids LOL for most kids. Pepper is training on pee pads because she is too little to go potty outside. The vet told us not to take her outside until 8 weeks. She will be 6 weeks tomorrow. Cleaning up puppy messes are not my favorite thing to do. “EEEEWWW!”

I Need Your Help . . . My Dog Won't Stop Scratching!

Oh no! Read this problem submitted by PetSugar reader Ludee00 in the PetSugar Q + A group and see if you can offer any tips for her: I recently rescued a cocker spaniel pup, eight weeks old.

Oh no! Read this problem submitted by PetSugar reader Ludee00 in the PetSugar Q + A group and see if you can offer any tips for her:

I recently rescued a cocker spaniel pup, eight weeks old. I have brought her to the vet five times and he can't seem to find out what is wrong. She seems to scratch all over. It won't wake her up, but it will stop her in her tracks when she is playing or eating. She will just start scratching. I have tried the following:

  • She was scraped and no mites or ringworm.
  • Tried oatmeal shampoo and Maleseb shampoo.
  • Tried a broad antibiotics in case it is bacterial.
  • Changed diet to Natural Balance and started adding Vitamin E to food.
  • She will bite at her rear and paws and scratch her body, ears and legs. No hair loss or inflamed skin. No appearance of rash or crusty skin.

She will cry from the scratching and it breaks my heart. She is so young, I don't want to try anything too extreme (medication wise). I have no idea what else to do. I have had her for 14 days and she has been to the vet five times, with another appt. this Friday. Any advice would be great.

I Need Your Help . . . Small Home With Cats Seeking Dog Pal!

Here's a little something to ponder this Friday to help out one of our PetSugar Q and A community members: I live in a 2-bedroom, 800-sq.

Here's a little something to ponder this Friday to help out one of our PetSugar Q and A community members:

I live in a 2-bedroom, 800-sq. ft. condo (I own) and am interested in getting a dog. I've looked online, but all I can find for breed recommendations are pups that yap or are bad with other animals. I have two cats. Any suggestions?

Think about all your dog breed expertise and come up with types that are not super active or needing room to roam, typically pretty quiet, and good with cats to boot. Share your tips in comments, then submit your own burning pet questions in the forum, too.

PetSugar Q + A: High Energy Dogs in Small Spaces?

While neither North nor my apartment are super tiny, it could be said that he's a high energy dog in a fairly small space.

While neither North nor my apartment are super tiny, it could be said that he's a high energy dog in a fairly small space. Still, when I think of active breeds, Jack Russells are the first to come to mind. Sure Frasier did it with Eddie — yes, on a fictional TV show — but check out Girl Jen's request in the PetSugar Q and A group:

Jack Russell Terrier in an apartment. How can I make it work?
