Got Something to Bark About This Year? Join My Best of 2009 Group and Share Your Thoughts

So many things have gone down over the last 12 months, '09 was quite a news-filled year!

So many things have gone down over the last 12 months, '09 was quite a news-filled year! There are a couple stories that jump to my mind immediately as ones that have inspired reactions from friends and family alike.

From big product releases (Snuggie for dogs, Pet Airways airline), zoo newsmakers (Knut the Cute takes a lady friend) and even those sad stories like the passing of the Taco Bell Chihuahua or Jessica Simpson's Daisy losing a match with a coyote, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

If you've got something to share about any of these stories (or something else from 2009), it's easy to get started. PS, you can get featured on the site so to find out how to join in and read more

Miss Pru Gets Comfy Cozy With Handmade, Remade Clothing

I've been trying to get together a nice winter wardrobe for Miss Pru to combat the cold Maine winters. Luckily, a friend of mine gave me a gift of a used sewing machine and a couple of dogcentric patterns so I have been whipping up a few things using old, no longer used clothing.

This is Pru's newest. I used an old American Eagle zippered hoodie for the material.

I Need Your Help With . . . Dog Destruction!

This post comes to us from our Community Member Halloween31.

This post comes to us from our Community Member Halloween31.

It seems that Luca is getting a kick out of destroying everything in sight whenever he is kind of alone. Of course he is never alone, but Lance has proven not be such a whirlwind of trouble. Every time I leave my house and come back I always wonder what now he will have found to rip up. Today it was the water bottles I haven't put in the fridge yet and kibble. At least he didn't eat the food he just rips the packages open and is very happy with the result. He is also very happy when I get home. Now Lance is a completely different story. You leave and he sets himself up on his chair and just stays there. He doesn't wander around or wants to destroy he just sleeps. Now I have tried everything I could think of. Left loads of toys and tried to keep him busy with a kong and so on, but nothing seems to help. Even so I think it's getting worse. He has even found my bag and decided that whatever was in there it had to be taken out. I could really do with some help from you guys and tips to see what I can do to stop this.

Thanks!

I didn't really know what "baying" sounded like and Raynor does this yawn thing that I thought might be baying. I looked it up online and found this and was listening to it and noticed Raynor wake up — got a video because I thought it was so cute.

There is an awesome new pet product that you have to check out. It's called Cube. Basically, it's sheets of sturdy cardboard that can be fitted together with built in tabs and slots to create custom designed cat condos. And because it's cardboard, it's super green, light-weight, inexpensive and cats love it. Super affordable, too - only $19.95!

Spotted! Baby Western Screech Owls

I don't own an animal but thankfully where I live has great wildlife including deer (that love to eat all of my flowers on my deck), birds, raccoons and my all time favorite animal that I spotted was baby Western Screech Owls. They spent the entire summer in a huge oak tree just outside of my house. I don't see them anymore but I can still hear them hoo'ing! This picture was taking about 5 feet away from them while they were learning to fly!

Has Anyone Tried the New Everyday Isle of Dogs Line?

What's better than an endorsement from one of you?

What's better than an endorsement from one of you? This post comes to us from the Street Team group from member Delilah02.

Hello everyone, I have a Yorkiepoo and I have tried Isle of Dogs couture shampoos and conditioners in the past and loved them. I recently was at Petco in New York where we live and saw they have a new Everyday line and new treats and was wondering if anyone else tried them yet? I found Isle of Dogs on Facebook and, from what I read, people seem to be loving the new stuff. I did ask for a catalog on Facebook and some samples come with it, I guess. I am just wonder if anyone else has tried the stuff and if they like it?

Fashion hounds (and their people) delight in the pages of this chic book. The vintage and contemporary photos, art and ads capture canine models on photo shoots, sporty dogs at play, pampered pooches with their movie-star companions and many more glamour pups. A rubber bone gives Rover something extra to chew on. Boxed for giving. Hardbound; 80 pages; $40
