We saw a bevy of jaw-dropping gowns earlier this week at the Met Gala, but it wasn’t just fashion’s elite sporting seriously swoon-worthy looks. Some very stylish pups took to the runway and walked in Fashion After Bark, Fashion Institute of Technology’s Pet Apparel Fashion Show. These four-legged fashionistas donned designs ranging from fascinators to trench coats; FIT students made sure there was a little something for every pooch (and their owner) to love. Of course, FabSugar alerted me to this furry runway addition – she's on top of all the Spring Couture, like this
outfit dog bag by Dolce & Gabbana. The blue, crocodile-patterned carrier is almost as precious as that puppy!
I haven't found this on the label's website yet – honestly, I was distracted by all those craveworthy bags for me – but, rumor has it, the product's called "Miss Dog" and comes with a price tag of $2,395. I wouldn't be surprised if we see this carrier carrying one of our favorite celebrity pets sometime soon!
Pet Fashion Week's over 'til February, but New York Fashion Week starts soon! I can't get enough of the Lifestyle Innovation Awards from this event, and you may recognize several of the designs from past posts on the site (like Whiner and Diner, Tigrito, and Kevy K.). Even though, the grand prize winner, HugX, is stunning, if you had to choose with money as no object, which style best fits your home's décor?
My fave competition at Pet Fashion Week is the Lifestyle Innovation Award offered to the company that has the top product design in a different category each year. This year "pet dinnerware" was displayed and this super-cute bowl won. Learn all about it in this slideshow!
I know my pal FabSugar is all a-buzz, since NY Fashion Week is quickly approaching! Like the Super Bowl of fashion, the best of the best in the design world will be out in force to show off their work – but are you as excited for this year's NY Pet Fashion Week?
Kicking off Saturday, this event is specifically tailored to the four-legged fashionistas in our lives. With great designers from the states, as well as high fashion couture designers from across the pond taking to the catwalk (and not to mention the hundreds of others that will be showing off their goods in the expo halls), I can't help but get excited for this weekend! Are you as stoked as I am, or are you just a little "meh" about the whole event?
Ahh, New York in the Fall. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and there's a hint of cheer as the holidays approach. This is what I thought of when I first laid eyes on Smitherman and Barnwell's collection of doggie coats. So chic! The company, mostly known for its luxury line of children's dresses, has expanded into the canine fashion market, and I have to say I'm liking what I see! Although there are no prices listed for these cute Fall coats, I'm guessing they don't come cheap.
And really, anything that reminds me of New York in the Fall is a-OK in my book, as it was easily my favorite time of the year. Check out more S&B pup coats below!
This week we've been checking out all types of rocker gear for your furry pals – even those Stones fans out there. This new line of pet clothes is all about the rocker lifestyle, but with bling to boot. Rolling Stones with Pink Gold, as featured on Funny Fur, comes stocked with some pretty hip items for the rockers at heart, or those pets who just want to look like it.
But don't think for a second that this designer line won't come with a designer price tag! This camo Crown Jewel tee is one of my faves but is so painfully awesome, that I might not mind throwing down the extra $74 for North to rock it out. I mean, how cute was he in his other punk rock style tee!? I just can't resist! But it's not just clothes, either. RSWPG carries bags and accessories for you to splurge on too, so you both can travel in style. Check out more of my faves from the designer line when you read more
When I learned from my pal, BuzzSugar, about the new Martin Scorsese documentary Shine a Light (opening today), I knew I had to share fun Rolling Stones-themed pet gear right now! While we've definitely been getting North in on the rocker pet trend, why not let him share music (I think) he likes listening to. While some of the items are right up his alley – like hoodies for early morning breaks – I can't exactly see him in coveralls . . . or overalls. But the trademark tongue logo does resemble him after a hilly walk, so check out all the gear when you read more
