If you've got a playful cat that can't get enough chase, consider picking up – and putting down – a collection of Jitter Critters ($8) for your feline's frisky fun. All you do is pull the string of the mouse, squirrel, tiger or hedgehog versions and let your kitty do the rest . . . plus, there are no risky batteries involved for those chew-prone pets. Purrrfect!
Bare Bones: ItchyKnee's Pet Products
Ever since I came across the Plush Catnip Birds yesterday, I've become totally in love with ItchyKnee's cat goodies! Even though I don't have a kitty of my own, I can appreciate an awesome product when I see one. One of my other favorites is this Wall Barrel ($70-$120) that attaches right to your wall, and comes in some eye pleasing colors and textures. They also have a floor version, but I like this one because it becomes more of a cat tree, especially if you stack them, like in this pic.
Plus, the wall barrel is made of sturdy cotton, wool, and corduroy, so if your kitty decides to have a little scratch, he won't harm it - well, not too much anyway! ItchyKnee has even more really cute cat accessories that I've rounded up in one of my handy widgets when you read more
New Year of Gifts: Instinctive Cats
The holiday gift giving season may be near over, but your favorite feline still deserves some treats! If you happen to have a frisky, instinctive cat — or know someone that does — you can never go wrong with toys that spark playful fun and a little exercise.
I love the Fling-ama-String, a $25 battery-operated cat toy that aims to improve "paw eye coordination" and keep your cat on the move. It's essentially a long plastic tube with a string that moves up and down to tease your kitty. It hangs on a door knob, counter top or chair and will entertain your cat even when you're not around.
