Can you pick North out of that picture? Although I consider myself pretty good at naming dog breeds, I'm always shocked by the number of people who get confused seeing my lil pup. He begrudgingly endures "I looove Pugs" or "What a cute Frenchie" at least once a week, but the funniest story comes from our days in NYC.
There was an issue with my tub's leaky pipes so a plumber (supervised by the super) had to come in to fix them. On the afternoon of the appointment day, I get a phone call from my building's management company informing me that he could not fix the problem and had to leave because of my (and I do quote) "vicious pit-bull puppy." Umm, yeah, that would be North. In his crate . . . and obviously freaking out because strangers came in and didn't let him out to play!
Trying not to be outraged at the stereotype behind the "vicious pit bull" statement, I had to explain to management that I had a crated, 15-pound Boston Terrier surely hellbent on "death by kisses" and go home on my lunch break to sit with them while they fixed it the next day. Do you have people misidentifying your pups as well? Share in the comments below!
Seriously, I haven't met (or seen) a Frenchie that doesn't like to sleep on his back – it's hilarious! Kinda like the frog leg position for other dogs, but way funnier.
Congrats to Moose (the 42 pound French Bulldog) and crystal tomlin26 for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Be sure to submit your favorite photos to our Pet Pics group. You may see your furry pal on the pages of PetSugar!
It looks like I'm not the only one in favor of using a crate! Samson is totally comfy in his little home, and according to LilPeaPod, sometimes even prefers his own private space to other spots in the house!
Right before I took this picture, my BF, Samson and I had just gotten home from a long walk. Normally, Samson likes to curl up with us on the couch and take a nap, but this time he crawled right into his travel crate and went to sleep! I caught this photo right after he snuck away to catch some zzz's.
He looks so sleepy! Are your pets more comfy in their small, private spaces, or do they prefer to sprawl out around the house?
Two of carriefrances' pack of pooches are mixed breeds: Trevor is a Boston Terrier/Pug mix and Zoe is a French Bulldog/Pug mix, hence the nicknames "Bug" and "Fug". They look like cute and cuddly little troublemakers don't they? What a team!
Congrats to Trevor, Zoe, and carriefrances for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Don't forget to submit your favorite snapshots to our Pet Pics group. You may just see your own cute and cuddly troublemaker on the pages of PetSugar!
Sugar staffer LilPeaPod went on a recent vacay to Mexico, leaving little Samson with her mom for the week. Covering all her bases, she whipped up an "Owner's Manual" to let her mom in on all the things he's allowed to do, what to eat (and more importantly, what not to eat), as well as his sleep schedule so he can stay regular with his naps and playtime.
This totally sounds like something I would have done when I first became a dog mom, since I was kinda paranoid to leave him with other people who weren't familiar with his day-to-day behavior and quirks. So it made me wonder: Do you leave detailed notes when you leave your pets with a sitter or do you just leave the highlights?
Frenchie Mac and his Uncle Austin love lounging in the sun. As a matter of fact, they have one particular spot that they both love, and subsequently battle it out to own. Thankfully, we got them on a day that they could both squeeze into the spot together. I would hate to see it get ugly.
Congrats to Mac, Austin, and Cplast for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Be sure to submit your favorite pet photos to our Pet Pics group for a chance to see your furry pals on PetSugar!
I can safely say I've never spotted a French Bulldog with this bluish coloring up close. Utah breeder Bullbank has the five pups from France we see here — although they're not up for sale, you can see how cute they are! Even their names are absolutely adoro: Shooter, Dr. Dolittle, Azurro, Rhadamanthys, and The Wild One.

Sleeping puppies are the cutest things ever! When they aren't busy tearing up your favorite shoes or unrolling the entire roll of toilet paper, they are just like little angels, aren't they? Obviously, smooshy Mac is totally comfy with his little piggy by his side. See him smiling? Oh, my heart.
Congrats to Mac and cplast for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Don't forget to submit your favorite pet photos to our Pet Pics group. You may see your furry friend on PetSugar!
I'm totally not partial to one pet (besides my own of course) believing that every animal is super adoro no matter what the species! But when Sugar staffer LilPeaPod sent me the link to Samson's entry page on the Worldwide Fido Awards website, I knew I had to call in the troops to help him make a big finish!
If you aren't familiar with the Worldwide Fidos, let me fill you in: You can submit videos of your pets in any of the six categories (cutest, best trick, best voice, owner look alike, most outrageous, and best dressed), for viewers to vote online. From there, the top six in each category are tallied and flown to LA for the televised finals. The winners are crowned in a special broadcast and get to proudly wear the title of Worldwide Fido 2008!
Make sure you check out Samson's crazy cute video here and vote, vote, vote! Hopefully, we'll see him at the finals!
