All Dogs Go to Heaven: RIP, Bug McGowan

I'm saddened to announce the passing of a smooshy named Bug McGowan.

I'm saddened to announce the passing of a smooshy named Bug McGowan. Bug's mommy caught my eye when she talked about all her great rescue work with Boston Terriers, and now Bug has joined Fester in puppy heaven.

Rose McGowan just tweeted this photo and statement:

My beloved lil' girl Boston terrier, Bug McGowan, died yesterday. I am shattered. Don't know life without her.

Such a heartbreaking time, but it's nice to see that she was with her babe Bug 'til the end. RIP, cute pooch!

Dog Dance: Coco the Boston Terrier Gets Down

Here's a hysterical video from the OnSugar blog Extra Helpings of PopSugar TV.

Here's a hysterical video from the OnSugar blog Extra Helpings of PopSugar TV.

After his standard 23-hour work day, our post-production whiz Justin occasionally has a spare 30 minutes or so to work on passion projects. Here's one example of a Justin-style labor of love. Justin found inspiration in Coco, a rhythmically-gifted Boston Terrier we met at the Satine Boutique in Los Angeles, and let the creative juices flow. The result? This prodigious mélange of cinematic artistry.

Witness Justin's muse Coco as she lets the music take over. You won't regret it.

Sunday Funday Video: Kitty Kisses For Boston Terrier

I'm not sure what is more spectacular, this kitty's canine affection or this pooch's endless patience.

I'm not sure what is more spectacular, this kitty's canine affection or this pooch's endless patience. Check out the video below and tell me you have seen something cuter than this today, 'cause I don't think it's possible!

Can Your Dog Walk on His Front Legs Only?

This smooshy is paw-mazing!

This smooshy is paw-mazing! I've seen some pets stand on their hind legs — like this super skilled kitty — but I've never seen a pooch successfully take steps on those front legs only. Looks like I know what I want to teach North this Summer but see the treat training for yourself in the video below.

Awww, "Nuts" — All About The Back-up Plan's Disabled Doggies

Ever since I spotted the very first commercial for The Back-up Plan, I've been excited for this film's release today.

Ever since I spotted the very first commercial for The Back-up Plan, I've been excited for this film's release today. Yes, I know I'm biased but that pooch belonging to Zoe (played by Jennifer Lopez) is absolutely adorable! As it turns out she also owns a Greenwich Village pet boutique, Hudson Mutts, which caters to pet adoptions and environmentally friendly, healthy pet care in addition to this smooshy in the film.

Now, onscreen the Boston Terrier's name is Nuts, but this lil fella is Nubbins, one of the three rescue pups that played the main pooch. None of the dogs were actually handicapped but Nip, Tuck and Nubbins were all pretty cute and each had their own talents as Jennifer said:

One was good at faces, one was good at walking in the chair, and one was good at moving his head and fighting with you.

I know I'm excited to see if I can spot the different dogs in different scenes so see all angles of the red carpet star when you read more

Found! Licorice's Studly Collar

This pooch isn't named Spike (hello, it's Licorice, of course) but that's what the collar's called.

This pooch isn't named Spike (hello, it's Licorice, of course) but that's what the collar's called. The Spike Studded Leather Dog Collar ($59) sported by this smooshy is super cute for Famke Janssen's little stud. The happy twosome took a stroll around SoHo over the weekend. I love their neutral color coordination; what a sleek match they make! See more, close-up pictures below.

Happy Halloween From North!

Seems only fitting that my little food scavenger was fitted up as a pirate!

Seems only fitting that my little food scavenger was fitted up as a pirate! Thanks to my mom, North didn't have to go costume-less today — and he thought not one, but two ensembles last year meant he would have a break in '09?! Not quite, little boy. Next week, we'll be rounding up all of your costumes so, if you're snapping pics, add them to the group. Happy Howl-o-ween and Meow-lo-ween everybody!

Famke and Licorice's Big Bike Adventure in the Big Apple

Well hello there, Licky, how I've missed you!

Well hello there, Licky, how I've missed you! The now-8-year-old pooch tried out a different fitness routine — biking. There's been some recent news out in California about banning even recreational cyclists from walking running dogs due to the dangers presented to nearby pedestrians, but this pup seems to be in the clear for people territory.

Personally, I haven't ridden a bike since undergrad (save a couple vacation afternoons) and know my crazy yet scaredy cat pooch would not be too fond of running alongside something like this, even if I wanted to test it out. Have you ever tried this fitness routine, either for a quick trip or a lengthy excursion? Check out Licorice as he scoots alongside Famke in the gallery below before sharing your stories in the comments.
