It's been a while since we've seen the first pooch, but these cute pictures make it all worth it! Find out where Bo's heading off to when you start this slideshow.
Hopefully the event includes dog-safe snacks, and I'm glad to see the girls' hibiscus leis far from Bo's mouth as that's a plant toxic to dogs! What I don't see is any Hawaiian print on the pooch. Sad. Granted his curly hair makes it impossible to spot the collar but I've picked out some print ideas for another big bash. Hey, and maybe next time the first family travels to Hawaii they'll hit up my favorite Cocojor shop for a doggie shirt, too?
Two words 'cause it's on: Bo Mania. While I love glimpsing the cute pup in piccys, I'm not sure I'd want a stuffed version. Or maybe I'm just telling myself this since Bo the Beanie Baby is pretty darn unavailable, selling out within hours of going on sale on Apr. 16.
But, you know those lucky shoppers wouldn't let this pass by . . . especially considering the price those ill-advised-then-pulled "Marvelous Malia" and "Sweet Sasha" dolls go for on eBay. I've found a couple listings still up for this toy – thoughts?
Barack Obama's been on the road lately, making friends with enemies and, most recently, visiting a plant in Iowa which produces towers for wind energy production. Well, lookee who anxiously awaited his return yesterday . . . none other than Bo himself!
The pup watches the president walk across the South Lawn (site of that famed romp) and all I can say is good thing there are bars up cause that happy pooch may just wanna take a leap of faith to give up a warm (wet) welcome ASAP. Although I'm betting our glimpses of Bo will be limited, I can't wait to hear how the first family adjusts to their first dog!
Lucky FabSugar caught up with Jason Wu in NYC on Tuesday. Like me, I'm betting you recall that stunning gown he created for Michelle Obama. Such an honor for someone so young (yet talented) and quite a few people want to know what's next. Pet designer perhaps? After all, he also took a moment to chat about future first pet couture saying:
Everyone’s asked me this already . . . you know, I’m always up for a challenge.
Well, I can't imagine Bo in anything quite that frilly, but perhaps a stunning collar for big events or maybe even a coat for chilly DC nights?! Hmm, what do you want to see Jason Wu create for the First Dog? Share it in the comments below.

Noooo, it's not a chew toy! That's the microphone, silly pooch. Think less squeaky, more "boom." As promised, we haven't seen the last of the newest member of the Obama family as this adoro Portuguese Water Dog greeted
the press his fans today.
The puppy was originally returned to a breeder, so I bet Bo's happy for his forever home at the White House. He's obviously elated (as were Sasha and Malia), and there were so many photos of his wild South Lawn romp that I couldn't resist gathering some of my favorites. He already looks like quite the lil handful at 6 months, and I hope to see him grow big and strong . . . and perhaps a bit calmer. For their sake.
All eyes are on him — well, mine are at least — but yours can be too when you read more
Finally comes the day we've all speculated about, discussed, and debated . . . and it seems that day is Tuesday. This lil furball is Charlie, the soon-to-be first dog entering the White House tomorrow. Seems Sasha and Malia have settled on an appropriate name that the whole family can agree on, so meet "Bo."
The re-homed Portuguese water dog was returned to a breeder and will be gifted to the Obamas. The Texas kennel is the same one frequented by Ted Kennedy and family, and will be presented by the Kennedys as, you may recall, that family also keeps Porties as pets. Seems the pup had a meet-and-greet a while back and, tomorrow, I hope to have even more information and photos of the six-month-old. 'Til then, join me in a hearty "Welcome, Bo! It's grrreat to finally see you."
It's the moment we've all been waiting for: Michelle Obama told People magazine that they will in fact adopt a Portuguese Water Dog at the end of April, after their Spring break vacation.
It's surely exciting news for Sasha and Malia, however, the girls are still undecided on what to name their future furball. Michelle's not too fond of her daughters' initial ideas, saying:
There are names floating around and they're bad. You listen and you go – like, I think, Frank was one of them. Frank! Moose was another one of them. Moose. I said, well, what if the dog isn't a moose? Moose. I'm like, no, come on, let's work with the names a little bit.
Ha! Well, I can't wait to see this pup and hear what name the Obama family settles on. I've got a couple names swirling around in my head and I bet you do as well so let's hear them below!
