Today, we were fortunate enough to participate in a round table with the first lady to hear more about the Let's Move initiative and discuss motherhood issues for the modern mom. The event kicked off with a photo of Mrs. Obama and the adorable Bo. The first lady explained, "We get so many letters from kids, who want to hear about the garden, they want to see it, and they also want to see Bo. Bo is really the most popular. So we decided to do this official picture that we could send to them when they write in. And we've heard so many great stories from kids who've been inspired and doing things like changing the way their families do things. And those letters are always just a joy to get. So we want to have something a little more tangible than just a letter to give to kids, because often it's the visual thing that makes it real." Bo, who is apparently not dressing up for Halloween, was able to take this beautiful photo in only three clicks!
It's Off to the Vineyard For Bo Obama!
With a slightly shorter coat than he wore on last August's Vineyard trip, Bo proudly prances off the plane, all eyes on him! The Obamas will be in Vineyard Haven until Aug. 29, so here's hoping we see more of the pooch — like a second annual presidential puppy parade! — but, 'til then, there are more photos of the first dog below!
Bo Bids Bye-Bye to Barack!
Yo ho, Bo — the first dog is at it again! The cute presidential pooch trots along the South Lawn this morning on a walk before President Obama took off for Atlanta to address the Disabled American Veterans convention.
The Portuguese Water Dog sniffs and scampers along seemingly oblivious to the cameras as he perhaps hunts for one of his favorite toys. He's only wearing a simple tan collar today (instead of this family pride one or a leash befitting a superstar) but with his selection inside the White House, I'm not surprised to spot something new. Peep more pics of this pooch in the gallery below!
Do You Hold the Leash Like the President of the United States?
It's hard to get a grip on walk time, especially with high-energy pups . . . even for the president of the United States! On their way to the Congressional Picnic yesterday (which seems to excite Bo quite a bit), Obama had to use both hands to hold him back.
Even though the leash has a loop, we see his grip wrap around the leash, not through the hole. After choosing your leash grip style, see more pictures of Bo following the leader — or should I say the leader following Bo? — in the gallery below.
The Scoop: Bo Does Chicago in a Chic Red Leash
Bo Obama (and his human fam) spent a memorable weekend in Chicago for Memorial Day — lucky dog! While the presidential pup didn't spend this holiday working as he has in the past, and there was no parade in his honor, he seemed to enjoy a long walk about town as a pooch of leisure. I'm still wondering if the Portuguese Water Dog found time to take a dip, too, as his breed name implies.
This sighting reveals yet another leash, which makes me think Bo boasts quite the collection to lead the way — see more of his walk through the Windy City in the gallery below.
Bo Obama, First Dog, Speaks Out About His Daily Duties at Work
In addition to Earth Day, today is Take Our Daughter (and Sons) to Work Day, where parents can bring children to learn about the jobs happening on that site. And, on hand to offer his expert opinion about what happens at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, was none other than Bo Obama.
While Michelle was trying to answer questions from children of Executive Office employees, the pooch was quick to try to bark all about his own doodies duties. How adorable. I mean, if the pup's this excited now, can you imagine his glee come Take Your Dog to Work Day?!
Bo Obama Takes a Bite Outta . . . Snow
Bo looks like he'd definitely answer yes to the snow equals snack question, and from the looks of it, he's a regular snow bunny as well. The recent storms plaguing the East Coast are good news for pets who love the fluffy wet stuff but a sad story for those with picky potty habits. To switch up play habits in the banks, pick out a brightly colored ball to contrast or try throwing snowballs instead — get my drift?!

Bo's Holiday Included Snow and Storytime!
With the recent Winter storms, the first puppy got a special treat last week — his first snow! Although there are no signs that he considers this a yummy snack, Bo definitely got in deep with the wet fluffy stuff and posed for pictures in DC.

Since the work of a presidential pup is never done, he accompanied Michelle and the girls to a storytime at the Children's National Medical Center, showing off his superb high five skills once again. I'm glad to see more pictures of the growing dog, even if he wasn't crowned your new puppy of the year, he's still pretty cute nonetheless.

Super-Cute Video: Bo Obama Rings in the Season with Bells On
Bo showed off his holiday spirit with a jingling collar and tons of tricks for Oprah at the weekend's Christmas at the White House special. A high five? Pretty impressive, lil pup. If nothing else, I'm pleased to see I'm not the only one using happy puppy voice to speak to my pet! Watch the video to see the first dog in action — he's rushing in for his camera time with bells on!
