Basset Hounds

Brando isn't Irish (his family tree has strong French roots), but that didn't stop him from donning a shamrock collar for the day. And let's face it, you don't need to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick's Day — we aren't fooling anyone with our March 17 happy hours either.

I've always wanted to get a professional photo shoot done with North and me, and now that I've seen the beautiful piccys from Lucy and kourt's time in front of the lens, I think I'm finally going to have to spring for it!

That Lucy is one smooth operator. She met this lovely chap while out on a nice walk in the park, and within a few minutes time is already playing kissy kissy face with him! What a man hound. Well, I guess that's appropriate, since she is a hound after all! He is putty in her hands. . . I mean, paws.

This is a big month for pet birthdays! Add little Brando to the list who turned one a week ago today – and boy does he look plum partied out! Phasekitty's furry pal keeps the hat on throughout his b-day festivities, and can even be seen licking his chops and staring longfully at his birthday cake in his party gallery!

Last week I asked all you savvy shoppers and Internet researchers to come PetMarking with me on a tough toy challenge to help find a way to make Brando happy on his birthday morning . . . and Phasekitty happy by not having the toy completely destroyed by afternoon. Not only did this pooch have trouble with separation anxiety, he's quite the tough chewer.
