I'm wearing my fave orange ballet flats to show my support for ASPCA day! But, that's not the only thing I did to get in the spirit and show my love for animals. First off, I took a minute and sent out some of these ecards to let everyone I know about today's important holiday . . . and the ASPCA's important efforts for our furry friends. Next, I took their pledge to fight animal cruelty and got up-to-date on the latest animal cruelty news and legislation. Lastly, I just can't get enough of shopping, so I checked out their special orange items to celebrate this day. If you wanna see my faves, just read more
Seems like another designer wants to lend a helping hand with dog adoptions! Adam Lippes will partner with the ASPCA from April 4 to 6, and host an adoption event right in his Manhattan boutique! Representatives will be on hand to facilitate adoptions of these needy doggies, about 20 of various breeds and sizes will frolic in the windows of the store. What's more is that any shopper choosing to give one of these pups a forever home will receive this limited edition "ADAM Loves Dogs" tee. Adam himself will even be attending on April 5 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and has said, "I can only hope that all of these dogs will find loving homes and will be surprised if I don't walk away with one of them myself."
OMG, how adoro is this puppy . . . and the necklace is quite a stunner, too. This lil spokespup is sleepily announcing the 11th Annual Bergh Ball on April 17 at NYC's Plaza Hotel. Last year's event raised over $1 million for the American Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), whose mission is to provide effective means to prevent animal cruelty throughout the United States. Put on this year by the ASPCA, in partnership with Chopard, the dream jeweler is helping make dreams come true by not only helping put on a fabulous fund-raiser, but also creating an exclusive series of limited-edition watches and pendants with floating diamond paws ($2,180 and up). What's more, 5 percent of the sales of this line – exclusively available at Chopard’s Fifth Avenue boutique – will benefit ASPCA so check out the diamond paw watches when you read more
In light of the recent, high profile news stories of animal abuse, it's important to illustrate animal-loving figures speaking out against such horrible crime. While there are many celebrities that are known for their activism, this brand-new public service announcement gives a new face to animal cruelty prevention efforts – a Miami Dolphin. The short piece was created by the ASPCA in partnership with the National Football League – and shows touching footage of Jason Taylor discussing his love of 11 years...his Akita, Bear.
