Congratulations to the Giant Schnauzer, Jafrak Philippe Olivier! The third time's the charm for this pooch, who has never come out on top during his previous efforts – and beat out some pretty awesome competitors.

2008 Crufts Winners: Hound, Pastoral, Working, and Terrier Group

Rounding up the groups competing at Crufts this year, this Samoyed Vandreem Imperial Hermioni by Berezniki won the Pastoral group.

Rounding up the groups competing at Crufts this year, this Samoyed Vandreem Imperial Hermioni by Berezniki won the Pastoral group. Caraway Celebrate Life, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, won the Terrier group while a Giant Schnauzer, Jafrak Philippe Olivier, captured the Working group title. Finally it was, "Max," the Beagle (officially called Dialynne Maximus) coming out atop the Hound group. Wow, we saw some beautiful pups this year, did you have a fave from these groups, or the ones we saw last week?

Crufts is underway and thus far we've seen the winners of three groups.

Crufts is underway and thus far we've seen the winners of three groups. Yesterday, the Utility group was won by this Japanese Shiba Inu, Janeryls in the Line of Fire and the Toy group by Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) Gibeltarik Happy Go Lucky. Today the Spaniel (American Cocker), San Jo's Born to Party won the Gundog group – and what a perfect name for Friday! Stay tuned for a gallery and the conclusion of the show after the weekend!

The time has come for the largest dog show in the world — Crufts features over 23,000 pooches!

The time has come for the largest dog show in the world — Crufts features over 23,000 pooches! Sadly, it's not televised (live) and it takes place in England, so it's not something most of us can watch. Sigh. But don't worry, I'll be providing photos and updates from the four-day event as it progresses here on PetSugar! Before I got started, I needed to brush up on my dog groups because the organization of the Kennel Club UK is a bit different than the AKC and Westminster Kennel Club. While there are still seven competing groups, the members and names are switched up, and there are some breeds that we wouldn't even see here in the US.
