Now, I think all pets deserve extra treats this time of year and over 90 percent of you agree with me! I already got us in the holiday spirit with some stocking suggestions but whatever will we put inside? Our next mission is to pick out things that you'd give the pets you own (or wish you did) this season. All you savvy shoppers and Internet researchers out there, please help locate the best stocking stuffers under $20 and come PetMarking with me, by bookmarking your finds on TeamSugar. Don't forget to tag your finds as "Pet Stocking Stuffers". I'll do a recap next week of our finds.
Geeksugar has written a helpful explanation of how to bookmark . . . or, in our case, PetMark! Happy hunting!
Yay for more pitter-pattering, puppy paws as Mariah Carey recently added a new furry member to her family! Along with the singer's already adorable dog, Jackson P. Mutley, she now has a new lil' one, J.J. This fella certainly has big shoes to fill when his name – short for Jack, Jr. – is inspired by his much-loved older brother. I've been awww-ing over this lookalike pup all morning!
Fun times for all as member pups, peeps, and their new pals run around in the 11-acre Companion Club Dog Park. For pups that love to sniff, there are wooded trails to stroll down and the above agility courses for the most energetic ones! Switch it up and let pup dip in Golden Pond – at over two acres, the pond itself is bigger than many city parks. Be sure to bring an extra towel for a free, self-serve dog wash area to use afterwards. Best benefits go to those with big, dog families – annual membership costs $395 a year, but it includes up to four furry family members in each plan! On the safety tip, the park requires members and visitors to provide proof of vaccination upon entry . . . for fun, and safe, playtime for all!
This Dog Is Going Places At first, you just see a chair rolling. Then, you see a dog walking with the utmost concentration on his hind legs, cartoon-style. Whatever this doggers wanted on that counter, he totally earned it! That's a good doggie!
Next in our Best of 2007 year-end round up, I've thought back to some of the more bizarre stories that we've seen on PetSugar thus far. Now I've featured some rather quirky things – but those listed below immediately came to my mind as tops on the uniqueness scale. Can you pick just one fave from the choices below?
One of our readers needs your help! Kiki tee has a little kitty with a big problem with the litterbox. Read his story, and share suggestions with us in your comments below!
We adopted Milo when he was about three months old, after he just had one of his back legs amputated. He always knew how and when to use his litter tray, but doesn't seem to know how to position himself when going to the toilet. He doesn't arch his back but instead crouches down close to the litter and, as a result, he keeps coming out of his box with an awful lot of what is supposed to stay in the box. . . stuck to him. And I'm talking both kinds of stuff that you want in the box (and not on your floor, your sofa, your windowsill, or any other place he makes it to before I have a chance to tackle him with a packet of baby wipes) on his tail, his leg, and sometimes his belly.
At first we thought it was a balance issue, but as this problem continues, it seems that isn't the case. . . and Milo doesn't seem at all bothered about it. He makes no attempt to clean himself off, which strikes me as odd because I thought cats were supposed to be so clean! We want him to be an indoor cat because of his missing leg, but I swear if I have to spend one more evening on my hands and knees sniffing my way around the house with a sponge and antibacterial spray, I will scream!
I love my kitty dearly, but I'd also love to keep him (and my home) clean – does anyone have any advice for me?
