The RSPCA in West London bares all when trying to find forever homes for the unwanted felines, including listing why the now homeless kitties were brought to them. Reasons for giving up some of these beautiful cats range from having too long of a coat, not matching the owner's new carpet, and not wanting to pay a $10 a day cat sitter fee while they hit the beach for a vacay. I can't imagine how anyone could give up an animal because of these reasons, but apparently some people just don't have a heart. What's more, the number of animals left abandoned in the RSPCA's care rose 23 percent last year to leave 7,347 pets without homes which makes it even more important to extend your love to a shelter animal, but to first make absolutely sure you are ready for the responsibilities of a pet!
We recently checked out a couple of these wild animals, and I'm still shocked about just how big the world's largest living rodent gets. It's hard to gauge size in this photo of a Capybara family chilln' at a zoo in Germany, but take my quiz and learn a lil more about these big guys!
I know it might seem silly to non-animal lovers – with so many humans without insurance of their own – but pet insurance is out there, available, and useful in some situations. If you have a purebred dog that can be prone to more (known) health problems, investing in insurance may be a smart move for her health and your financial future. I've heard one too many horror stories about owners neglecting to go for checkups, or opting out of necessary care their pets need because they can't afford the treatment. It's a sad cycle that affects humans and animals alike.
How do you feel about pet health insurance? Is your pet covered for those times in need?
See this dog? He's on a C-biscuit mission! In addition to making berry good oat snacks, Angelica also made the yums you see here for lil Richie. The treats — named for ingredients of corn, carrots, and (optional) carob – were rather large, so I'd recommend breaking them into several smaller portions for a pooch. As if North didn't already have enough fun eating yesterday's strawberry yummies, he got to test a C-biscuit, too!
When I first saw this, it took a couple minutes before I could even say anything. You're looking at a life-size monument depicting deceased pups, Gracie and Sophie, atop the head of Oprah Winfrey. Called "Memories of Sophie and Gracie: A Puppies' Memorial," the sculpture was designed by Daniel Edwards. Now his name sounded familiar to me, but I couldn't quite place it, so I googled him up – lo and behold, he's the same controversial sculptor who created that statue of Britney Spears giving birth on the bearskin rug. If you're interested in checking it out up close, it will be displayed at NYC's Leo Kesting Gallery from May 22 - June 8. It's arguable what breed is the drool-iest around. One of my fave breeds, Newfies, slobbers a lot as do loveable Saint Bernards and the Great Pyrenees we see up above. Granted it's nothing a normal towel couldn't sop up, but what a great gift for a pet lover these funny towels would make. North is definitely too busy wheezing, snorting, snoring, and sneezing to drool, but he could totes use the bib style when he's slurping up his doggie "ice cream" treats. The towels are only $10 each – with a choice of nine embroidery thread colors – and just $2 extra to add your culprit's dog's name, too! This model isn't even sporting the funniest towels – check out all the clever sayings when you read more
