I thought about choosing this picture for a quotable quest, but couldn't resist using acrobatic cats as a conversation starter instead! Is this scene a familiar sight in your home with pets trying to scale things . . . appropriate or not?
If you're adding a cat, or having issues with curtain lovers already, consider substituting tension rods for wall-drilled ones – the tension rods can't hold your pet's weight and will simply fall down if he tries to jump up. Another option is adding vertical blinds (versus horizontal) to your windows as kitty can't easily get up them, but can still see outside! Not all pets have those pretty pink tongues like Samson, and not even our wilder friends either! If you know anything about these creatures big and small, test yourself with pictures and facts in this quiz!

Ooh Babar, you have the cutest little face! I love me some smooshies, so I couldn't pass up the chance to introduce you to this little guy! And he's happily entertained, says dog mommy lacornflakegirl, since his favorite toy is his Poland Springs water bottle. But if lacornflakegirl wants to give Babar more of a chewing challenge, I have just the replacement for his precious plastic bottle!
Congrats to Babar (and lacornflakegirl) for being chosen as our Pet Pic of The Day! Be sure to submit your favorite photos to our Pet Pics group and your pet could be featured on PetSugar!
I was super excited to spot these furballs in the arms of Kim Cattrall at the opening of the annual Summer Sale at Harrods yesterday because, ummm, when am I not excited for puppies?! At first, I was a bit baffled why these cutie doxie models were involved at all but my eagle eyes discovered that she's actually seen here in the pet department – check out those red toy squeaky slippers in the background!
This department store has some of my fave merch for our furry friends – in fact, when I spent all that time in London, I picked up a cute tshirt for my dog that he still wears to this day!

I love animals, but I have to be honest and say, if I was placed in a situation like one that Adam Warwick faced last week, I'm not sure how I would respond!
Warwick, a Wildlife Officer from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission made a quick (and dangerous) decision to save a drowning bear who was shot with a tranquilizer dart after wandering into a Florida beachfront neighborhood. The 364-pound black bear was stunned after being tagged with the dart and ran straight for the nearby ocean. Warwick, acting fast on his instincts, dove in to help after seeing the bear struggle in the water:
He was losing function in his arms and legs, and was obviously in distress. I knew I had to keep him from drowning.
Although at one point the bear looked as if he was going to climb on top of Warwick to keep his head above water, he walked away with only a few scratches to show for his efforts, and the black bear was safely released into Florida’s Osceola National Forest.
If you were in Warwick's position, would you have jumped in the water to help?

I'm so saddened to learn that one of Sharon Osbourne's beloved pets, Minnie the Pomeranian, recently passed away. Definitely dog mommy to many a furry face, it's clear that this pooch had a special place in Sharon's heart – and lived a great life:
Minnie hails from the land of Pomerania. She is the most sophisticated of her breed and lives fabulously alongside Sharon. Minnie only travels first class, will only ever drink Fiji water and holidays in the South of France. She enjoys fine dining from the worlds most exclusive restaurants.
Minnie's luxurious lifestyle does not stop there. She sleeps in a custom bed made exclusively by the Beverly Hills Hotel, receives weekly massages and manicure/pedicures and has her own full time personal trainer. Minnie has her own tight group of friends and does not believe in casual acquaintances. She currently resides in London, and frequents Paris for shopping and meals on weekends.
I hate to see
anyone lose a pet, especially one so cherished, so I've gathered some pictures of this cute pooch from her public appearances (like with JT!) as well as a couple glamour shots before her hair lightened with age. See them when you

In the final episode of Groomer Has It, the remaining two contestants, Jonathan and Artist, had to beautify one dog from each of the seven groups, in addition to these bonus "mutt magic" pooches seen below!
Polar Bear, an adoro Westie/Eskimo pup, and Corey, the Dalmatian/Lhasa Apso mix, were the eighth and final dogs groomed as part of the competition. This week's quick tip was to pay attention to the type of dog you're working with and use appropriate techniques for each type of coat:
- With long haired dogs, avoid vigorous scrubbing as to not tangle their hair and don't forget to use conditioner.
- For shorter haired dogs, use a rubber brush in circular motions to remove excess undercoat in the wash.
With most of our votes, seems like many of us were rooting for Artist . . . but did he pull through to beat Jonathan, top dog from the very start? Find out in the video clip from the final announcement when you read more
