During a recent trip to LA, I took a jaunt over to a little shop called Healthy Spot in Santa Monica and was blown away by all the cool products they have stocked on their shelves. Not only could they be called the one-stop-shop for all the high end and quality products you could want, but Healthy Spot offers up grooming and pet sitting services as well. Located a few blocks from the Santa Monica pier, Healthy Spot is a pretty cool place to be, and lives up to their motto of being the leading provider of fine products, services, and care. OK, OK, I've got a sweet tooth. I could pass up fries or other savory snack, but show me a cupcake or some ice cream . . . and suddenly there's an empty spot in my tummy. Now I think these pastry chef created Petit Fours look absolutely fab . . . and would make a sweet gift for me my doggie!

I totally enjoyed Beverly Hills Chihuahua (did you?) – so here's a tail-waggingly good tale about one of the film's heroes, the lovable and macho Papi. The bat-eared Chihuahua mix named Rusco was rescued for the part from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter by a trainer who's now the pup's proud parent, too.The lil guy was a fast learner (just like another rescue-turned-star pooch I remember) able to quickly acclimate to a role in front of lights, cameras and action. His fave rewards during the learning process . . . steak and a stuffed, squeaky flower named "Daisy May." Ahh, tough life.

Well, there's so much going on, I almost didn't know how to describe it! These dog packs ($16) fit your pet's harness but also have a detachable strap to convert to a wristlet for you, too. I guess it's another way to have your pooch carry his own weight in poop bags, and even includes a squeaker if you want to turn it into playtime. Wow?
Brrr, can you feel that nip in the air? I know North can so I want my peppy, preppy pup to take advantage of furry Fall fashions – cooler colors and warm knits. This season's Crewmutts (from J. Crew) line now offers some great blue totes, textured sweaters, and darker madras styles. You may recall their summery madras of seasons past, but the latest versions also have a removable sherpa lining for additional warm cozies heading straight into Winter.
In case you missed it, our resident cutie Samson won the title of Cutest Dog in the Worldwide Fido Awards! LilPeaPod, her BF, and Samson headed down to Santa Monica late last week for the taping of the show, and snapped up a few behind-the-scenes piccys to share with us.
Big congrats to Samson on taking the "Cutest" title, and although he didn't get the top Worldwide Fido award, he's still a winner in our hearts!
