I cannot resist a bizarre holiday . . . umm, remember my celebration of National Hat Day?! Anyway, I just discovered another one but I can't seem to hone in on a date. National Moment of Frustration Day takes place sometime between Oct. 10-13, so let's honor it today by venting. I'll go first . . . I wish my pooch did not loooooooove company as much as he does. He's so mellow with just me and I wish he could extend that attitude no matter who visits from my BFF or close pals to any maintenance or delivery person. My little scene stealer needs to be in the spotlight whenever a new audience shows up and hates leaving the room with the most action. Now it's your turn – share your biggest pet peeve in the comments below.
Naomi Watts has a baby on board in addition to Bags on Board when taking her two cute pups for a jaunt in Soho over the weekend. Ned (the Cocker Spaniel) and Bob (the Yorkie) look pretty chill so the one-handed technique seems to be working well for this walkie.
Now, I notice both dogs have matching leashes – if you've got more than one pooch, do you buy unique leads for each furry friend or do you buy the same one in multiples? Share in the comments below after seeing a couple more pictures when you read more
Seems like North's not the only pup celebrating Howl-oween, plenty more plan to dress a pet as well! I don't know about you but whenever I spot a cute costume, I want to scoop it up . . . the more I find, the more I wish he could wear a costume every day this month.
All you savvy shoppers and Internet researchers out there, share the costumes you've purchased for your pets – or hope to – and come PetMarking with me, by bookmarking your finds on TeamSugar. Don't forget to tag your finds as "pet costumes". I'll do a recap next week of our finds.
Geeksugar has written a helpful explanation of how to bookmark . . . or, in our case, PetMark! Happy hunting!

North does this to me all the time: I get set to eat my snack, and he'll sit at my feet as if I need to share my yums, too. Apparently, Pumpkin is the same way with Morenasobuena's water. Pumpkin just got her own fresh bowl of water, but insists on drinking Mama's as well. Typical.
Congrats to Pumpkin and Morenasobuena for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Keep sending in your cute piccys to our Pet Pics group, and you just may see your furry friends on the pages of PetSugar!
One of the ickiest, but most important, parts of a dog's annual checkup is the stool sample. Usually we scoop poop several times a day, but it goes straight into the trash without a second thought. However, most vets require and request this very deposit to check for worms and other diseases. For first time visitors, the logistics (How much? How fresh?) can be baffling. Here's a simple how-to for this doodoo must do:
Mark a freezer-style resealable plastic bag with your pet's name, your name and collection date.
Turn this bag inside out being careful to have the sealing part safely covered.
After your dog's most recent meal before the doc's visit, bring this bag along with your normal scooper of choice.
Collect a small deposit (like one poop) – they actually don't test much more than a tablespoon – and seal up the bag taking care not to smush it.
It's as easy as that! Labeling helps make certain your pup's sample is correctly matched – remember, less is more, and fresh is best.
The fourth of November isn't just the day that we elect a new President, but it's also a day when we get to voice our opinions on a batch of new bills, propositions, and laws in our respective states. For those of us in California, there is one in particular that had a group of pooches and their owners barking. . . err, talking to folks on the streets recently. As a fan of all animals, this particular law hits close to home and made me want to get more information. Thankfully, there were a number of people on the street willing to talk me through it.
It's called Prop 2, and its goal is to help fight cruelty and inhumane treatment to farm animals. How?
If your pets treat doorbell rings and knocks as North does, the sheer number of guests on Oct. 31 can cause unnecessary excitement (and stress) for furry friends.
