Even though tons of colleges have animals as mascots, they may not be welcome inside dorm doors. I attended a university where nearly everyone lives on campus for all four years . . . and the housing is not pet-friendly. However, the year I lived in an apartment style unit, I had a friend who would sneak her family dog to stay on weekends, once found a kitten in the hallway, and even had a pal with a lil bird.Nowadays more and more institutions offer pet-friendly rooms – how was it like for you (and did you ever look for a loophole)?
When North and I head out of town for a quick getaway, I need an extra tote to lug all his stuff around in! Food, treats, poop bags, eye wipes, and toys are just a few essentials that I end up carrying in one of my bags. But thankfully, I don't have to shop at a baby supply store to find a nice "diaper bag" for all of my pup's stuff.
Aud & M's leather clutch is the perfect size for all of North's overnight things, and they come in a range of cool colors to suit your taste. Hey, I'm a fashionable gal, and there's no reason that my doggie's goods should be tossed in something that doesn't go with my new Fall coat. Since Aud & M doesn't have an online store, check your local pet shop for products and prices!
If North could talk, every time someone asked him if he was hungry, he'd yip yes. Problem is, I don't want an overweight pooch. If you've got multiple people in your family, it's possible your Sig-O, children, or even the dog walker could be swayed by that fake famished face. This neat bone ($30) lets people know if your pet's actually been fed yet . . . with removable stickers to place next to each day. Put it out of paw's reach!
Or, pick up a matching magnetic pad of paper ($12 for two) – each sheet has seven days and spaces for four to-dos – great to give to a pet sitter with information on medications or walk and meal times/ amounts. It may make leaving a touch easier!
Another month means another month of must haves . . . yay! What's topping my list for October? See something for kitty, doggie, and you when you start the slideshow below.
