We can all agree they're mighty and pretty (especially while playing in the snow!), but what do you know about these jumpy felines? Get some facts on their fluffy tails and more when you start the Snow Leopard quiz below.
I'm planning for a happy new year, so let's get started with five of my favorite items for 2009! Along with treats for kitties and doggies' paws and jaws, there's even a little something for you, too. Check out my January must-haves when you start this slideshow.
I'm saddened to announce that one of the precious pets of the current first family has passed away – this cute cat died Sunday at the Executive Mansion at the age of 18. The lil girl had many names; she was originally called "India" after the former Texas Ranger baseball player, Ruben Sierra (nicknamed "El Indio"), before the then 9-year-old Barbara Bush renamed her "Willie" when she joined their family. When the twins went off to college in 2000, they left their cat at home in the White House with President and Mrs. Bush where she's lived ever since. Guess they're also fans of multiple pet names for precious pals, as this pet was also commonly called "Kitty" by the first family! Source
I guess in a household of five pets, there has to be one that keeps the others in check. And in LadyHawkes' house that would be the oldest black lab she has dubbed "Tutu," which means Grandma. I'm dying to know how the conversation between her and the frisky little white cat will turn out . . .
Congrats to LadyHawkes and her head "Tutu" for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Be sure to submit your favorite photos to our Pet Pics group for a chance to see your four legged friends on the pages of PetSugar!
Let's get the ball rolling in '09! It's important to have the right tennis toss for those wintry afternoons of catch with your pet. That's not to say all animal sizes won't get a kick out of the standard ball, but the small tennies are more catch-worthy for lil mouths where they could be a choking hazard to the big dogs. From teeny tiny ones (usually 1.5-inch in diameter) to the super sized (5-inches in diameter), which ball do you think your pooch would like best?
It's been a while since we've toured a droolworthy pet home, but this one takes the cake, errrr, coffee. I know if I ever needed a doghouse, this one would be the foam topping on my list. After all, I love coffee and what a snarky way to acknowledge my Starbucks habit by treating North to this caffeine-free abode – his handcrafted Starbarks franchise rings in at $300 on Etsy, are you buying in?!
It’s time to get clever! A picture is worth a thousand words, but those messages vary from person to person. I think this monkey hit the jackpot — what do you think? Suggest quotes or captions for this photo in your comments below, and I’ll do a roundup next week of some of my faves.
