As North's favorite ingredient in the world, I know he's sad about all the recent news linking this stuff to Salmonella. Since he gets treated to the freshly ground stuff, I know that's safe . . . but, take note, of the PB related recall of PetSmart's "Grreat Choice® Dog Biscuit" products that contain peanut paste made by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA).
The seven affected products were sold at PetSmart between Aug. 21, 2008 and Jan 19, 2009:
Small Assorted 32 oz. (UPC 73725702900)
Small/Medium Assorted 4 lb. (UPC 73725700601)
Small/Medium Assorted 8 lb. (UPC 73725700605)
Small/Medium Assorted 10 lb. (UPC 73725702755)
Large Assorted 8 lb. (UPC 73725700638)
Extra Large Assorted 8 lb. (UPC 73725700779)
Peanut Butter 4 lb. (UPC 73725700766)
If you've picked up this product in the past, discontinue use immediately, and return it to any PetSmart store for a complete refund or exchange.
The bulldog wheezed and snorted his way to the number 10 spot for 2007, the first time in 70 years that this big smooshy made the list – did he do it again last year? Since we've already shared our predictions for the most popular breeds, check out the official results based on 2008 AKC registration statistics released today. Obviously, there are tons of unregistered and rescued pups that we love as well, but it's still fun to see if we often spot the same breeds on our daily walkies. Find the furry faces counting down to number one when you start this slideshow.
One of my favorite websites to go to when I need a laugh is Upside Down Dogs, cause it doesn't get any funnier than seeing a dog sleeping upside down. Samson is finally getting the hang of sleeping on his back, and mom LilPeaPod snapped up this pic before he flopped over. Learning that on-your-back balance is a tough one.
Congrats to Samson and LilPeaPod for being chosen as our Pet Pic of the Day! Don't forget to submit your favorite photos to our Pet Pics group for a chance to see your furry family members on the pages of PetSugar! I'll help you get started when you read more
Play my Which Pet Is Cuter? game to bring a smile to your Wednesday . . . 'cause, if you're like me, you need one about now! The game shows two pets side by side and it's up to you to click on the one you think is the cutest. Each time you select the pet with the higher "cuteness" score – based on our audience's votes, we don't have a secret cute meter – your score adds up!If you think your pet has a winning mug you can add him to your TeamSugar page and he will be added to the game. Keep 'em coming because I love seeing new pets on our site!
While much of the nation was captivated with yesterday's inauguration, I couldn't help but continue to wonder about the First Dog-to-be, especially now that the family's all moved into the White House. The Obamas are still sticking to their rescue dog preferences, saying that either a Labradoodle or Portuguese Water Dog are top picks because of their daughter's allergies.
Some people consider those breeds to be "hypoallergenic" because of the limited shedding, yet others claim that the main allergen is excreted as sweat and secreted into the saliva making essentially no dog safe. What do you think?
