I could go for some frozen goodness right about now! Ice cream, margarita, even a Popsicle, I'm not picky. Now several zoos treat animals to cold relief (no artificial sweeteners or alcohol, of course), but do you know what goes into snacks like Tai Shan's Birthday "cake"? See a slideshow of ways to help animals chill out this Summer when you get started!
Temps are heating up and for long-haired pups, Summer means time for a new 'do. For long-haired breeds, shedding is year-round battle, and frequent baths and trims can help the problem . . . but costs add up. TeamSugar user Lynne writes in about her Golden Retriever:
Since I'm not an expert, can you provide any insight and tips on the best products, methods, and stylings to accomplish reducing his fur coat during the Summer? I already have a Furminator, but that takes a lot of time and I don't want to irritate his (pale) skin with too many strokes. I'm hoping I can use the clippers with a 1-2 inch guard but would like some further advice.
Several companies make at-home trimmer kits with DVDs, but I've never used any on my short-haired pup. Can anyone offer up some tips or product suggestions to help Lynne and Sonny out?
I don't know about you, but I absolutely love seeing all your cute pets as our Pet Pic of the Day slides. Since we moved this feature to a permanent place on the sidebar, your pets get more face time on the front page of the site. Well, if this sounds like the perfect shot to fame for your furry friend, it's super easy to add him or her (or them!) to our group. Curious how to do so? Well, get the full scoop when you read more
Although my tolerance for too much barking is pretty low (I do live in an apartment, you know — too much noise and my neighbors would be knocking on my door), I could watch videos of "singing" dogs all day long. A clip of one of my favorites is below: a Frenchie that sings along with the harmonica! I'm not much of a singer myself, so I gotta give credit where credit is due, this little guy can really carry a tune . . . or would it be carry a bark? Either way, check out the adorable video and then share your singing dog stories in the comments!

Growing up alongside a furry friend makes her just like family, and it's never easy to lose a pet. When the latest episode of the Bravo reality show, NYC Prep (don't judge me!), shows one household lose their beloved 11-year-old dog, my heart went out to 16-year-old Kelli who had grown up alongside the fluffy pup.
It had been mentioned earlier that Lily was on a treatment including steroids and acupuncture with two herniated discs, and they later host a
pet funeral at a
pet cemetery in Long Island. To see the rest of the scene,
