Lauren Conrad Adopts a New Puppy | Pictures

Adopt a Shelter Dog Month is not quite over, and Lauren Conrad is doing her part to help the abundance of pooches looking for love all across the country. Stopping by her local shelter last week, the style icon unexpectedly scooped up a friend for her other rescue pal, 4-year-old Chloe. Dubbed Fitz, the teeny pup seems to be getting along splendidly with his new family and living the good life, taking plenty of naps and even helping mom with the laundry.

Of course, there are plenty of adorable adult and senior dogs who need homes, too, so don't pass up a companion with a little gray on his nose. In the meantime, we can still gush over this aww-mazing pup!

Spooky and Sweet Black Cats

With Halloween approaching, I can't help but think about the super-spooky, iconic image of an ominous black cat.

With Halloween approaching, I can't help but think about the super-spooky, iconic image of an ominous black cat. Black cats may get a bad rap when it comes to more superstitious folk, but to me, they're as cute and cuddly as the next furry feline. And coincidentally, today is National Cat Day which gives us even more of a reason to check out these pictures of spooky, yet sweet, black cats!

Meet a Sporty (and Festive) Rally Monkey Baby

She may be only 2.5 weeks old, but the San Francisco Zoo's baby François langur monkey is already causing quite a stir. Born bright orange, François langurs eventually turn black, but this wee October-born one not only seems ready for trick-or-treating and spooky Halloween hijinks, but she has also arrived just in time — and in the perfect team colors — to root on her hometown's Major League Baseball team as they play for the World Series title. Heralded as the orange and black San Francisco Giants' rally monkey, her official name is still out for debate. But according to the zoo's Facebook page, the front-runners are Scutaro (for Giants second baseman and NLDS Most Valuable Player Marco Scutaro) and Posey (for Giants catcher and National League Comeback Player of the Year Buster Posey).

Of course, Detroit's mascot, the tiger, also carries favorable markings for the season, but as some have noted, these noble felines also wear Giants team colors, if you're the superstitious betting type! For more photos and a video of this adorable primate babe, just keep reading.

Cuddly Baby Red Panda's First Spotting After Birth (PHOTOS)

Talk about "aww" moments that make your heart melt! Little Sherman, the newest addition to the endangered red panda species, was recently spotted snuggling up with his mama, Ta-Shi. Though he was born on June 22, this is the first time on-lookers have been able to clearly see Ta-Shi and Chewbacca's baby boy, because he was previously hidden behind the many leaves and branches in their habitat at the Detroit Zoo. Like a lot of mamas, Ta-Shi is quite protective of her little one, and seems to be enjoying every moment.

Cross-Eyed Cat Spangles Wins Hearts With His Crazy Costumes

We're happy to present this article from our partner site Yahoo!

We're happy to present this article from our partner site Yahoo! Shine:

People love cute cat photos, but Spangles takes cute to the extreme. The cross-eyed kitty, who was caught glowering goofily in pirate hat, now has a huge following on Facebook, and is making waves across the Internet as well.

She first decided to dress him up when she came across a tiger costume at a pet store. "I saw the tiger hat in PetSmart and it was so cute," his owner, 25-year-old Mary Buchanan, told Yahoo! Shine in an interview. "I put it on him and he just looked so adorable. I wanted to show others how cute he is."

"He was born on July 4. So I came up with his name, Spangles!" Buchanan posted on Spangles' Facebook page, where she also posts plenty of photos. The 3-year-old mixed-breed cat was born with his eyes crossed, Buchanan told Yahoo! Shine, but "He can see perfectly fine. He has been checked out by a vet."

Spangles lives in Spartanburg, S.C., with his human, his canine siblings (Jen Jen and Mojo), and his feline siblings (Sunshine, Snowball, and Georgina). "My pets are my kids," Buchanan says. "My mom asked when she was going to get grand kids one day and I pointed to the animals playing and and told her those were her grand kids!"

"Spangles loves snuggling with me and he plays at night," Buchanan adds. "I'm a night owl so he has adapted to my schedule." And he's plenty willing to don crazy costumes and pose for Buchanan's camera. At least, most of the time.
