As if his voice alone wasn't commanding enough, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson has us spellbound with one simple fact: "you can't put a price on space exploration." This video titled We Stopped Dreaming talks about the enormous impact that watching the Earth from the moon had on humans.

But Neil deGrasse Tyson urges us to go beyond that and see "NASA not as a handout but as an investment." The reason? "The act of discovery empowers." The 夜間night* charging dock (the Chinese symbols translate to "from dusk to dawn") may appear to be simply an unassuming opportunity to stylishly charge your iPhone, but designer Douglas Wood created the dock with a very specific message: trying to discourage phone use in bed so owners get a better night's sleep.

After the iPhone is placed inside the modern contraption, the hidden connector charges your phone, but it also notifies the dock when email or text message notifications arrive. With no new notifications, the dock has a warm, gentle glow to lull you to sleep, but when an iPhone notification appears, the dock flashes like crazy, upsetting your sweet slumber! Once it's finished throwing a tantrum, you have the opportunity to respond to the message, shut your phone off, or put it in airplane mode, the latter two of which Douglas Wood hopes you'll start doing.
