Is Your Pet Moody?

I'm a strong believer that pets can understand our tone of voice – and can gauge between bad and good puppy voice no matter what we are actually saying. But as much as I think I know about pets, until North can talk, I'll never truly know what he's thinking. Most of the time I seem to have a rather happy pooch at home, but there are moments when he gives me the cold doggie shoulder when I'm just trying to play. What about your pets – do you think you've sometimes got a lil sourpuss at home?

Daisy only gets moody when I stroke her while she's sleeping - she scoots away like 'Eff of, b*tch', lol.

When i make my dog Honey do tricks and she doesn't want to, she makes funny noise like she's talking under her breath (I guess more like barking quietly and mumbly)... and I know she doesn't want to play dead or do roll overs... hehehe

Polka is a very happy and sweet dog BUT sometimes, she gets moody! ;) She totally hates to be waken up too early for exemple... So if I do it, she ignores me when I talk to her! :rotfl: She's funny! ;)

Sometimes they look and act sad. I have also been the recipient of many dirty looks....its hilarious

Chase is very moody....and very vocal about it! He flops down and sighs if he's being ignored, grumbles and gives The Glare if he's trying to sleep and we're making too much noise for his liking, and he is the Master of what I call the "Dramatic Yawn" - *rawr rawr*. All of this has earned him the titles of "Master Chase" and "His Highness" LOL

Tinkerbell sulks when she is in trouble but trouble is Oscar's middle name. He doesn't let anything bother him - that's a dachschund for ya!

Roxy pouted for about 2 hours after I took her home from the vet...where the vet induced vomiting and put activated charcol (sp?) down her throat because she ate an entire bag of fun size Snicker Bars, wrappers and all. She didn't snap out of it until she started to play with another dog in our complex.

My "other" is that I don't have a pet. But the photo that goes along with this story is the perfect example of a moody pet. He looks like he's rolling his eyes!

My cats are very moody. But how do you scold a cat? It's pointless. Right now I've got two pissed off cats. One shaved hairless (see my page for photos) and the other angry because she doesn't recognize her sister without hair. How the heck can I punish the angry cat for something that's understandable but wrong. As far as punishing our dog, Nike...darn near impossible to punish her. Nike understands the tone for NO. But she has mastered the big puppy dog doe eye look and she walks away from you dejected and then she plops onto the floor with a huge sigh and puts her big paw over her nose and stares at whomever reprimanded her until they are forced to acknowledge that she really is a good girl. Then Nike's huge tail wags and her eyes brighten again. She's so emotionally manipulative but otherwise a very good girl.

My Bichon has a lot of mood swings. She gets grumpy, or she gets bored, or she gets annoyed with her stupid humans when they won't give her what she wants right that second.

Our females seem to be much moodier than our males... especially Ginger and Asia.

Both my dogs get annoyed when they want to goto bed or go home. I get the 'look' from Storm. THey are very scheduled dogs. No one is to mess with that. Also, they know when they have been bad and instantly change their personality. They really give themselves away LOL!

Myko is usually happy, but occasionally gets sulky (when not getting attention) or glares (when I'm being obnoxious)

First, :woohoo: for the basset. :) Brando is a total moodyhead. He'll whine if I'm not playing with him and he wants me to, he'll bark at me if I tell him to go lay down and he doesn't want to, and he'll get all sulky if I'm not paying attention to him.

Harley is known to be a mopey pants. If you're not playing with her she's soooooo sad and she has the perfect sad face. She also uses that sad face to get treats out of everyone in the office.

Anubis is spoiled! And it shows whenever he doesn't get his way! Like not wanting to come inside ... talk about fun!

B-Bop is usually an all around happy guy. But sometimes he get bit by the WHINY bug. For NO reason he'll just sit there, stare at me and cry. He's fed, doesn't have to potty, all basic needs taken care of. I'll play for a bit then have to work and he starts all over.

Bonnie's usually pretty positive and happy, but Clyde can get all moody sometimes. Men! :)
