Why Do People Walk Dogs in Pajamas?

Perhaps this is most relevant if you have a yard, but do you ever walk out in public in clothes you wouldn't ordinarily wear? I've spotted people walking pooches with long coats and PJ bottoms or sweatpants peeking out, and just last week, I saw a gal in slippers!

I have to be dressed to walk the dog, under threat of embarrassment from my coworkers, who drive ambulances around my neighborhood. :D That's not to say I look good, especially on mornings like today when I overslept and didn't shower before walkies, but at least I'm dressed.

On your own property, that's fine and great! I've watered my plants in bare feet and pajama pants. But out in public, off your property, down the street etc, it's no more acceptable to wear pajamas while walking a dog than it is to be doing anything else! Just because you have a dog doesn't mean you get to ignore social norms entirely! Put on some sweats and flip flops!
