I'm curious to know how you researched which farms are cruel to their livestock. It would be useful in convincing my non-vegetarian friends to eat more animal-friendly.
I will savor it. I am okay morally and ethicially with eating meat. I however understand the aversion to the way some meat is processed, and I try to get mine locally or from places that dont "torture" the animals.
My stepsister( by marriage not blood)is a vegetarian, and on thursday she was just annoying. She didnt bring her own food, and didnt tell my mom her preferences, just assumed that my mom would basically cater to her. My mother did make her a seperate stuffing with no animal broth, or tidbits, and she did make acorn squash, plain green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls etc. at the table we are all passing the plates, and she plain as day REFUSED to touch the bowls or plates where there was "DEAD FLESH" her words, not mine. I just thought she was straight up rude, selfish, elitist and smug. I told her after the millionth time she lamented over the ham that there was a coffee table in the living room for her if she didnt shut up. I ate twice the amount of meat to make up for her share. ahahahahah
@esk. You're right, animals eating animals is absolutely natural. I don't have problems with people eating meat. But I have an enormous problem with meat farmers who are unnecessarily cruel to the animals they handle. Do you seriously not see a problem with overpacked poultry being kicked, having their beaks cut off without pain medication, and being generally tortured? Don't try to justify the cruelty of humans by comparing it to the cruelty of less evolved animals. That's illogical and ignorant.
If you want to eat animals when you don't have to, fine. But I think we can all agree that animals deserve better treatment.
ok other animals eat other animals all the time, and often they don't kill their prey in the nicest ways... have you ever seen something be drowned to death by a crocodile? or mauled by a tiger? perhaps squeezed and already being digested while its still alive by a snake? perhaps seen a baby seal tossed around by a pod of orcas and thats just for fun not even for food...
I don't see whats the big deal is with us eating turkey
I don't even like turnkey!!! I usually eat a smallll smallll piece just to make my family happy. I dunk it completely in the mashed potatoes so I don't really have to taste it. I prefer ham. But I have to wait for Christmas for the real big ham.....
my uncle and my brother go out turkey hunting... and when I'm there thats always best, but I love turkey, and thats pretty much the begining and the end of the story for me...
That pictures makes me feel like a monster. Mister Turkey looking at me with that look of utter shock, like he can read my mind about tomorrow's meal...
Please forgive me Mister Turkey!
