On one side, "MISSY." On the other, my cell phone number. I got the dog, and the tag, when I was apartment hunting. I didn't know what my address would be, so I didn't include it. And since I can take my cell phone number with me if I switch providers, it's a constant.

In theory, if we got Zena a name tag, it would have her name and nothing else. She has an AKC microchip tag and her rabies tag that also acts as an identification tag.

I have my dog's name, my cell phone, and my e-mail address. We've been moving a lot so I didn't want to put an address, and those are the easiest ways to contact us. Luckily it hasn't mattered so far what is on there because we haven't lost one of our pups.

I think putting your pet's name on the tag is a good idea, because then the person that finds him can make him feel at ease by calling him by name. Sounds silly I guess, but it might help. Also if someone can read the tag from far away, calling out his name might make him come to the stranger so he can get back to his owner faster. I also have a St. Francis tag for my dog. Not that it will help a stranger bring him back to me, but it's nice to feel like someone's watching out for him.
