Yes, I know there are 365 days in a year and I know myself well enough to realize I won't always be around or remembering to snap a picture of my pup. That's OK, I'll try to stay on task and end up with over 300 pictures, even if it means "cheating" and snapping two shots on one day.
If you'd like to join along with me, find some get-started tips when you read more.
- Use your phone. I've set up an alert on my phone to remind me to snap a photo each day. If you're concerned about pulling out the fancy lenses, you can use the camera on your handset (if it has one) to snap a pic on each outdoor walk.
- Set themes. If one shot a day's too much to take, try for one really good shot each week. Frame the pic with something that's unique to that time of year (e.g., piles of leaves, falling snow) or use props to represent holidays, sporting events, or other special occasions.
- Plan your finished product. Starting a website to share the daily pictures is one plan for the computer-savvy or mobile bloggers, but if you're staging more artsy shots, consider printing up a photo book or calendar to show off your good work in 2011.
Sound like a plan, then who's with me?
