I want one so bad. 2 years This quiz is bogus and obviously not written by a Shiba expert. The ONLY acceptable coat color in the list is the black & tan. Solid colors are never "acceptable" on a Shiba because they don't show urajiro. Also, they're double-coated and NOT waterproof. The guard hairs are course, but the undercoat is incredibly soft, giving them a soft texture to the touch. 2 years I found some of the questions here to be unspecific. For instance, some kennel clubs, including the American and Canadian Kennel Clubs discriminate against cream Shibas - "Serious fault--Cream, white pinto, or any other color or marking not specified is a very serious fault and must be penalized." Another issue is that, yes, in the American and Canadian Kennel Clubs, the Shiba is a non-sporting breed. However, in the United Kennel Club, it is listed in the Northern Breed group and in the Fédération Cynologique Internationale, it is a member of Group 5 Spitz and primitive type. All in all, this quiz was enjoyable, but I think that it presents a regrettable American bias, as well as some shaky breed knowledge. tarabara1229 3 years Love Shiba Inus, and was so happy when the Shiba Inu Puppy Cam was up and running. I swear work productivity was at a standstill! rossy 3 years Shiba Inus & Akitas are beautiful & look very similar to Siberian huskies, Alaskan malamutes & Samoyed dogs! Even though researchers say that ALL domesticated dogs are descended from wolves, only certain ones still have "wolf-like" features. dezignerwannabe 3 years My friend has a Shiba Inu and she's so fun but she will attack strange dogs in an instant!
