With all the action and excitement surrounding the Puppy Bowl, your feline friend may feel a little left out! Knowing that there is at least a Kitty Half Time Show during the doggie extravaganza, I wanted to give you a way to indulge your sweet cats and get them in on the fun on any other Sunday, too. Not only are these treats easy to make, but you can find all four ingredients at your local supermarket! To find out how to make the scrumptious Salmon Cookies, read more.
Salmon Cookies
from No Cans
1 12-oz can salmon with liquid
1 egg
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup instant oatmeal, ground in a blender
Combine the salmon and egg in a blender; mix until smooth. Add the oatmeal and blend well. Spray cooking spray on a 9-by-13inch pan and spread the mixture in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool, then cut into bite-sized squares. Store in the freezer.

I will totally make these for my spoiled-ass cats! I used to cook for them all the time.
1I love baking dog treats. These look great. It's hard to find kitty treats that don't look too messy or stinky to make.
2I bet bubba would like this!! thanks!!
3Pet,
Can these be made successfully with other protien sources? My adopted boy was diagnosed with PKD soon after I brought him home. Long story short, he can't have fish or beef due to the phosphorous levels, and I know that the sodium content in canned meat makes this recipe not an option for my little dude. But I would love to treat him with something homemade! Feedback?
4fuzzles, ask the vet you see for a list of recipes for homemade food/treats. my vet gave me a sheet with recipes and acceptable substitutes for PKD/food allergies/deficencies, etc.
5this treats were great! i made them today, a batch with salmon for my two cats and a batch with mackeral and rice for my two dogs (with skin allergies). they turned out good, a little sticky, but good!
the recipe made enough to last a long time!
but i recommend making them on parchment paper for the stickiness.
post more recipes!
