These furry faces are about to be on top of the world . . . or at least on top of the roll! A gaggle of puppies showed up in London for an audition for a new commercial for toilet paper. Think like that Cottonelle cutie but for a British brand called Andrex. While it traditionally features a lab, breeds of all sorts showed up to test out their cuteness against the pack.

Panpan just celebrated her 30th birthday in Fuzhou, China — cute! This giant panda was most famously the archetype for the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing but I think she's still cuter than that illustration. See all the tasty treats she enjoyed on her big day and check out the slideshow.

As a signal of their status, they've already held court for royalty! Queen Sofia of Spain stopped by to snuggle the little ones — while it's still safe to do so! — and it looks like this one is already telling her secrets . . . probably something bad about the other one hiding his face.

Halloween is over but I'm still giving you a few more days to upload your pets' cute costume shots to the community group! Sunday welcomed the annual Halloween Dog Costume Parade in Long Beach and I'm already inspired for next year by some of the standouts. Doggie Twister, Abe Lincoln and a Bulldog Kissing Booth? Looks like an amazing time.

Paul the psychic octopus had a great record on the field in the tank for the 2010 World Cup, going eight for eight predicting Germany's results and calling Spain as the victors in the final. Sadly, the almost-3-year-old, English-born creature died this morning, with his official German statement reading:
He appears to have passed away peacefully during the night, of natural causes, and we are consoled by the knowledge that he enjoyed a good life here and that the care provided him by our dedicated displays team could not have been bettered.
If you missed his prediction prowess, the caretakers would place a yummy mussel in two clear plastic containers and place a flag of each competing team on the respective containers. Paul first chose the treat from the team he thought would win . . . before eating the second treat, too. Although the octopus officially retired after this year's big games, he was still visited and praised around the world.

Claiming to be the world's largest ongoing dog Halloween party (of course, not proven but I've been there and it's big), Tompkins Square once again rolled out the dirt and leaf-strewn carpet for the 19th annual event in the East Village on Sunday.
