Too bad that this only counts "registered" breeds. If you counted dogs by majority type, Baltimore would definitely have pit bull as one of its top 10- because we're a compassionate city that adopts, not kills. I love my rescued mixed breed!

Rally RE, I agree. I have an Aussie, and lately I've started noticing them everywhere. They're definitely gaining in popularity, with good reason -- mine is the best dog in the world! (But I may be a little biased.)

I ♥ my papillon to death but i do miss my yorkie (died after 16 years) she was the best dog EVER!!

i like labs but where are the shelties and aussies???? too many little dogs made the list but i guess people want easy to care for pups that don't require much exercise or mental stimulation.
