While neither North nor my apartment are super tiny, it could be said that he's a high energy dog in a fairly small space. Still, when I think of active breeds, Jack Russells are the first to come to mind. Sure Frasier did it with Eddie — yes, on a fictional TV show — but check out Girl Jen's request in the PetSugar Q and A group:

I owned a Jack mix and yes, they have loads of energy. On top of the walks, I played at least an hour of fetch and tug-of-war with her squeaky toys and an hour of training. Training, fetch, tug-of-war and expanding your walks are idea. If you have a training center, try agility or other Doggy Sports with your Jack. Dog parks where they can run and bounce in an enclosed space is a good idea too. There's a saying among the Jack Russel Terrier owners that says, "A tired Jack Russel is a good Jack Russel." Work them hard and then they'll sleep pretty much.

I'd love to know as well. I take her on three 30 minute walks a day and she still has the freaking energy of the energizer bunny.
