My tiny puppy baby love is super spoiled...but only with what is good for her. I feed her organic kibles but also cook for her and give her snacks every day. She gets steamed or oven roasted veggies like squash, sweet potatoe and zucinis. She loves grated carrots as treats. Once a week, a bit of egg white only. Chicken and rice but of course!!! several times a week. I never give her anything with spices or in contact with what she should not have. Duck, lamb but never red meat. Oh yes...the smallest piece of cheese here and there but as small as a grain of rice and only the best brie or aged chedar will do for her. Mind you she is a huge fan of cream cheese and home made vanilla ice cream. as far as treats I buy...all natural,no corn, no wheat, no colour, no preservative....I am super picky about what she eats.
I feed my shih zhu all vegitables right from my garden, she LOVES them and has plenty of energy. Her coat is shiny and she smiles alot.
MY DOG HAS HAD TUMMY ISSUES...SHE'S A DUMPSTER DIVER, I NEED TO WATCH HER CLOSELY WHEN WE GO OUT...I USE A 12 INCH LEASH..
SO SHE GETS SOLID GOLD DRY FOOD....AND CHOPPED MEAT AND RICE EVERY DAY...
I WISH SHE WASN'T SO ADORABLE...IT MURDER SAYING NO TO HER. AND I HAVE TO MAKE SURE OTHER DOG OWNERS DON'T GIVE HER ANYTHING. UGH !
My pup gets human grade food all the time. Nothing processed or like scraps from my meal. She gets chicken breast, raw eggs, a little bit of cheese, cooked veggies (just plain, not salt or anything added), rice, some fruit (bananas mostly) and organic peanut butter. I think it's horrible that there is such a stigma against giving pets "people" food. As long as it's not something like pizza crust or cake (or something poisonous like grapes), it's totally fine.
Spoiled pets get cared for the best, not get junk food that could make them sick or ill later in life. Dogs can eat fruits & veggies, cats can't. Dairy is bad for both of them.
My bf has a bad habit of giving our pug treats while we're eating, even though I tell him that she absolutely must wait until we're done. I don't have a problem with her getting chicken, turkey, the occasional tiny piece of cheese, and different fruits and veggies, though. She has allergies so that stuff is better for her than a lot of the treats on the market.
my pup's had a weiner here and there when we run out of dog food and can't go to the store right away but we try not to feed her people food at all.
Zena is allowed to have pasta, rice, chicken, pork chop, beef roast, corn, carrots (steamed), apple and some other fruits and vegetables as dogs are not true carnivores. She's only allowed to have cheese when she gets tranquilized as I learned that most cheeses are too salty for a dog and can cause pancreatitis. She is never allowed tomato, grapes and some other foods.
My dogs get a little here and there as well, its hard to tell them no when you're eating in front of them so I give them little bites throughout my meal. If they can't eat what I have I fix them something they can have. They're my spoiled little babies!
Ohh... Can I have the recipe for your doggie cakes?
oh man, my honey is one spoiled pup! she usually gets a little bit of cheese daily, its her favorite snack! and, i also bake her organic doggie cakes...yummy
My cat drinks some milk about once a week but that is about all she gets on a regular basis. She also likes olives, cheese, french fries, and any form of meat but gets those items very rarely.
When her brother was around, they got into the habit of begging at every meal eventhough they didn't get anything.
Now that he has passed away, she seems content to just eat her own food.
None. When I was growing up, we would sneak food to the dogs from the table, so they were always begging. Now mine don't get any people food, and they don't beg or drool.
Occasionally we'll give them some people food to hide a pill, but it goes in their bowl along with the kibble.
Back when I had my dog she 99% of the time she only ate what i cooked for her (ground turkey, veggies, fruit with a little oatmeal and kefir sometimes). The other 1% was high quality natural dog food cans (for days i couldn't cook which was once or twice a month).
I couldn't stand what low quality was in most dog foods, and the very few i like were too pricey to feed her 2x a day (we are talking close ot $3 a can for a 65lb dog). It was cheaper and I new how fresh her food was and knew what was in it and how it was handled.
She also got a natural multivitamin with her meal.
They RARELY ever get anything. They are nearly 100% strictly cat-food animals. I know that one of my cats absolutely LOVES potato chips so I'll let her have a bit now and then but that's about it.
The only time our pups get human food is when we have to hide a pill or something. We did not want them to get in the habit of human food and beg for it all time.
My pups are a little spoiled. They get little bits and pieces here and there. They especially love breakfast on weekends because my mother makes pancakes one day and french toast the other day, and so they get either the leftover eggs from the french toast, scrambled, or tiny pancakes with the leftover batter. Absolutely spoiled. :P
